We are coming very close to seeing football (soccer) blown wide open should we see another American owner enter the premier league. One more owner will give them the chance to change the whole fabric of our game by voting in their ideas.

Would the fans rise up if they try to do away with relegation from the Premiership.

Would the European league be a likely outcome, Barcelona are still driving this hard because of their financial situation.

If Wrexham carry on they could be that next American owned Premier Leage team in a years time.

The face of football could change forever.

I've said before in another thread that they will totally ruin football. They will having premier league games all over the United States. They also wanted a end of year all star game with players from Northern clubs V southern based players. I will definitely turn off if this happens

Football at the top level is pretty much cooked anyway. The diving at the first hint of contact has long put me off, but VAR makes it unwatchable live and the ease of accessing illegal feeds will undermine the whole bloated funding model soon enough. Hopefully the American owners will lose interest if that broadcasting bubble bursts.

We have reached the stage of countries owning clubs through vast sovereign wealth funds. Pretty unsavoury countries at that. In other words the soul of football has already been sold to the devil.

Isn't the owner of Sky a yank and as we can all see they are gradually nibbling away at our traditions and are responsible for kicking supporters who actually like to attend games in the teeth.

We need someone with the balls to stick up for British values and not the over commercialised yanky values. The only adverts I enjoy is when they bring short relief from emmerdale.

Do you not feel that's slightly pedantic? His main residence is in New York and has been since his youth but if you want to stick to that line lets say Wrexham is half own by an American.

The top level of football is this country is terrible to watch as it is in most other countries.

Euro league would be all money and could divert our income I feel.

I stopped watching PL football ages ago as it's been utterly ruined by the VAR rubbish. Let it go to the money men and sovereign wealth funds etc etc. I think the eventual result will be a boost for football below Premier League level, which remains relatively unspoilt, and remains more strongly grounded in the clubs' local communities.

Bang on. Realistically for clubs like ours the Holy Grail is the Championship. Happily see the Premier league fk off and become separate as the money mens play thing, no promotion or relegation just leave it to em. The Championship would then be the pinnacle for clubs who still have a local identity.
