Anyone watching the Women’s Euros?
I really enjoyed the last tournament, it felt like there was real momentum in the development of the women’s game. But I have to say, the standard this time around seems to have taken a step backwards. I don’t mean to sound disrespectful, but watching Iceland vs Finland honestly feels more like a Sunday league match than a top-tier international competition.

Also, I couldn’t help but notice the complete absence of any male representation in the studio during the coverage. That seems a bit one sided, especially considering the ongoing conversation about equality , particularly when it comes to sponsorship and commercial support.

The games between the better sides will be a good watch but to be honest like many men’s tournaments these days with increased number of teams there will be some dross to watch.

Spain will take some beating. One thing I like with women's football is no theatrics or time wasting. They need to stop this taking the knee nonsense though.

It is refreshing not to see players falling down like they've been shot. I think the tournament will improve when the better sides are involved. Tomorrow's night game might be interesting between Spain & Portugal

I enjoyed watching Lucerne u15 boys thrashing the Switzerland women's national team 7-1 in a warm up match, straight after Alisha Lehemann was banging on about equal pay....😏

It's just plain daft to compare womens with mens footie.

And of course some of the games will be low key, in the same way some in male competitions can lack purpose.

I'll be backing our lasses all the way, though - infact I'm far more intetested in them than any of the sides in that coffer filling non event currently happening in the 'States...

I mentioned to a few friends that I'd seen a version of our new away strip in a Pale green, which I quite liked. Watching today's Euros I notice that the Italians are wearing something very similar, which I think looks good.

Played ok for first 5 mins then absolutely shocking. They need to buck their ideas up a lot 2nd half. Couldn't win an egg cup with this performance.

Awful since the very, very close offside call. France miles better all over the pitch. England look knackered.

Struggled since the goal was ruled out but been on the wrong end of that decision and their second came from a foul on Russo that the ref was looking straight at and has already given France a couple of similar decisions and then VAR decided not to change it. Fouled her twice before kicking the ball.

Yep don’t disagree but at 1-0 instead of 2-0 not long before half time it’s a lot easier to get back in the game. They’ve just flattened Russo again with nothing given while France get a decision for something similar. Also a horrible late tackle with studs straight across williamsons knee went to var and no card given at all.

Obvious bias in favour of France but we should be good enough to play over it regardless. They have played us off the pitch at times. Spain will smash us with their quick accurate passing

France looked ragged after we did score but we needed a bit of luck for one to drop in the final mins.

We should have been better but the decision that led to their second is a massive match changing moment that they’ve got wrong with two clear looks at it.
