I remember back in the day when we were going through a bad time I was at Saltergate rattling a bucket outside the Kop for CFSS at a home game against Sheff Wed. The whole experience with the Wed fans was terrible, they were wallowing in our demise. One bloke pulled a button off his shirt and threw at me saying he'd buy the lot.

Its bad for football when clubs fall apart, I can't help thinking about the likes of Bury and how sad I found it when they folded but Wednesday, I can take or leave it.

As Spireites,we should be thinking there but for the grace of god go I.How close have we been, and not just once, to that situation? How did you feel at the time, I know how I felt, the club has been in my life since I was a three year old and there will be plenty of Wendyites with a similar story. We also know the impact on the community, and the real fans at the end of the day are the ones who bear the brunt.
Some comments on here I would not expect from real football fans ....,..?
On a different note, Hillsborough needed a lot of work when we were there for the FA cup replay and has never looked to have received much attention since from what I can see, I would imagine there is a lot of money required just for the ground.

Three times? 83/84. 2000, and CarsonAllen chuckle brothers double act.

As much as I thoroughly enjoyed their relegation from the premier league to scenes of crying fans and Roy Orbison's crying playing in the background, I don't want to see them go under and I don't for a minute think they will.

Tough times ahead but they'll get through it.

Perhaps the comedy duo of David and Ashley will come steaming in to save the day. 😉

We know what a sobering experience it was getting a double relegation. It ultimately turned into the catalyst for turning the club round. I'd be content to see SWFC go through similar. Clubs can and do come out stronger.

Me too,my experience with wendsday fans has all ways been derogatory and fairly abusive in nature

Pfft. Couldn’t really care about them. Sad for any of the genuine fans but clubs can’t continue to be run in this manner and expect to continue to trade.

I’m sure they wouldn’t have the buckets out for us and I wouldn’t contribute to theirs.

Unfortunately there are fans of other clubs who relish in the demise of other clubs but change their tune when it’s their own club

That wasn’t in Goku’s vegan phase where he was telling folk how bad meat was?

Don’t imagine it would go down too well in KFC but no need to spit on folk.

Brighton being a perfect example, unfortunately!
