If he stays free of injury he's worth gold to any team at our level.
Let's hope you're right, for our sake.
Soccerbase had him down as starting 9 games and making a further 18 substitute appearances last season (more than I thought) and I don't recall his contribution as being close to gold standard.
Like I said a few months ago on here, Paddy should be starting games but not necessarily at our club. Hindsight's a wonderful thing.

Grigg is 34 this week and in the last year of his contract. Top pro, great goal scorer, legend, but the succession planning needs to be managed and I'm sure Cook will be on it.
That surely manifests itself by introducing a worthy successor, in a different class to Quigley, Pepple, Dallas..........., to share the work.
With a contract extension by no means ruled out.
Madden is a great technician and has been unlucky but imo the same thoughts must be applied to him anawl.

Fans generally are not to interested in the long term development of players, just instant success. Thankfully many of our fans understand the process and offer a little bit of patience. If it was down to a minority, we would have probably released Mandeville a few years ago.
As he is now Pepple has a long way to go before becoming the finished article, he needs a decent coach and some time.

Do you think Jack Lester got many folk off their feet prior to 2007? He didn't hit form until the twilight of his career. I personally think Pepple was worth a couple of years especially under Paul Cook.

Totally agree with your comments, really feel there is a player in there and a further season with us would have brought it out.

I agree, Pepple has definitely got something about him, and would have been the perfect kind of player for us to bring on to eventually lead the line before selling on at a profit, but I'm sure Paul Cook and the backroom staff will have spied other potential gems.

There is some potential there but right now he is an extremely rough diamond
