Why would we want cheek , he is 33 , we need players with mileage in their legs

I doubt he'd come for a year as a bit-part player but he would hardly reduce our chances of promotion if he did.

I would want to know why, after all these years, he has put in a transfer request. Has he had a fallout, told he’s getting less minutes, or wants a go at league one.
After all his career in London area highly unlikely he would come this far north and frankly wouldn’t want him.
And please don’t cite Fletcher coming here for one season.

I'd take him no problem!

So would I. He is a player who covers the whole length of pitch, gets stuck in, and most of all is a 20 goal striker.A much better choice than Madden who just hasn't fitted in at Town unfortunately.

You have to think he has a superior deal lined up with a specific club and currently Bromley aren’t cooperating.
And no, it won’t be us.

He's to old to change his style of play and will want to go somewhere that plays the Bromleyesque way, maybe Walsall or Colchester.

To muddy the waters a bit more, Transfermarkt says his contract ends in 6 days, so he could just walk away.

Dont think thats right, google brings up a few options which suggests he's contracted for next season with Bromley. If he was out of contract he wouldnt mess about with a transfer request.

Bromleys released list has him as under contract for next season as well.

It wouldn't be the first time Transfermarkt hasn't been accurate. I only use it when there's nowt definitive on Wiki.

Just the reaction I was expecting to be honest. Didn’t Huddersfield pay a fair fee for him when they signed him?

Some weird negging of you just reporting some news going on here.
Yes, I think Udders did pay Solihull an undisclosed fee for Hudlin. I agree he is incapable of playing football, from what I've seen.
Cheek will score goals wherever he goes, penalties or not.
These go to eleven.

Yep never intended to suggest we should sign him and no chance we will, just a snippet of info about someone we've crossed paths with in the past and we've all though how the heck did he become a professional footballer let alone Huddersfield go on to pay a fee for him.

For what its worth i dont think we should or will sign Cheek either, just an off the cuff remark that signing him is the best way to stop him scoring against us! Not a chance he will go north of Watford Gap i would think despite some talk of Wigan being after him although suspect thats died down with them signing Mullin on loan....that said Mullin and Cheek up front together would be interesting! Some talk linking him with Gilingham who probably could chuck a decent deal his way.

I thought I saw something on Bromley Twitter bidding him farewell or something to the effect of thanking him for his service. Vague recollection only though.

But only 6ft when he heads the ball

Makes you appreciate how good crouch was, Hudlin was worth a gamble for a big club but it does seem like Hudders flushed 250k down the drain

He definitely has some promise and attributes we should be looking for in a centre forward, just needs to work on his finishing.

I don't think for a minute it would be. My guess would be Gillingham.

For me there was nothing in Pepple’s time with us that suggested he could improve
