Many Moons ago I was talking to my account manager at Ebuyer (or some big IT purchasing place based at Worksop) and we mentioned football so he dialled in Gregg Pearce who worked for them. A rather embarrassing conversation ensued, I was polite mentioning seeing him play away at Bristol City and he seemed quite offended I didnt immediately buy 30 printers in awe of his CFC prowess.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Steve Lenagh.

Seemed to try hard but I’ve never seen a professional footballer look less like a footballer.

Didn’t he get a move somewhere too? York, possibly?

He’s now some kind of well-being coach.

Steve Williams sold me a car, was working at Bristol Street Motors on Chatsworth Road!

Also proper random one, Scott Cordner was working in an employment agency in Manchester in late 90s when I went to get a part time job!

Before he signed for a town Scott Cordner worked at County Offices in Matlock where I was working at the time. Had a few lunchtime 5 a Sides with him, nice lad such a shame he had such an ignominious Town career.

I've just checked Stuart Basson stats and it's confirmed that you we're never seen actually doing any work at county offices. As for Scott Cordner, he was OK but we played with far better players at DCC, me for one 😉

Sheridan’s lad a close second tho.

The more I hear about Sheridan and his second spell at this club the more I dislike the guy. Him and Rowe were dark periods in the clubs recent history.

Sheridan should have walked after he and Scott Boden's goals saved us from dropping into the National League North.

As far as I'm concerned, he served up one of the best seasons of football that I've witnessed. To suggest his time at the club is on par with James Rowe's tenure is laughable.

Out of interest, where do the likes of Saunders, Caldwell and Allen feature in your list of doom?

Jay Sheridan walked so that Connor Cook could run. Deserves more credit than he gets. A trailblazer. Ahead of his time.

Just like Andy Rushbury.

Jean-Jacques Misse-Misse Think he played one game away at gillingham in 1998. Then completely disappeared.

I started work at County Hall in 1974 and, after moving around Derbyshire to numerous places, I finished work at County Hall from 2014 to 2018. The question back in the day was "how many people work at County Hall", the answer being about half of them.

Wilst i was at Clay Cross Social Services Carl Swan used to muster up some inter-departmental football and cricket games. They included some not very fit or good players,to Carl and others who had played professional, or semi-professional, sport to a decent standard.

It was a laugh though!

I've said it before and I still believe it, Sheridan was hell bent on being sacked second time round to take Allen for another pay off. Whether the rumoured reasons were true, I don't know.

I've heard that said quite something few times and our group all said the same.it looked obvious at the Solihull game away, he was just dossing about on the pitch not taking an interest in the preach warm up.

It wasn’t Allen who paid him off though, the Trust ended up paying him off.

Sheridan was a good manager and as someone alluded to above, he gave us one of the best seasons I’ve witnessed. You’re right though, his second tenure was all about another pay off

He did. But sadly tarnished. Thankfully he went before relegation to NLN (which I don't think he wanted, he was aiming for a binning well before the axe finally fell).
