So, we'll see the new 8 second rule for the first time at Matlock.

I'm trying to work out what new antics teams will adopt to try to make the goalie hold on to the ball longer than 8 seconds without fouling him (or her), thus winning a corner. Can't currently think of owt but somebody will.

That change will render a few of us redundant, including Cookie. 😂

Second thoughts - whose job is it to enforce it?

Suspect the ref will have to see blatant stood there holding on to it to give anything. Saw one given in the club World Cup and it me from the keeper holding it and making no attempt at all to get play going again.

I can see a lot of crowds counting to 8 as the opposition keeper holds the ball to try and influence things.

The previous rule was a 6 second one but officials chose to ignore it or were unable to count to 6.

I assume they have now had to undertake further education over the summer to enable them to count to 8.

It seems to me the simple way to get round this is for the keeper to collapse in agony every time he catches the ball.

The 6 second rule would have been perfect for officials born in Scabfield, all counted on one hand 😆.

I've got two kids and a wife.....at the minute - classic quote from our new keeper.

The other quote that springs to mind - might have been on another interview, not sure - is he was asked to describe his style.
'Crazy' he said. 'Ask any of the coaches'
Or word to that effect.
Can folk remember the last 'crazy' keeper we had? Rhetorical question btw
Not seen owt 'crazy' in any of the highlights but it must be a worry hearing that after he's signed on the dotted line! Any mishaps and that will be 150k sat on the bench whist reliable Boot steps back in.
Let's be honest, he's been bought as the No1 so he has to be solid and not erratic.

I think it's fair to say, that a lot of goalies can be said to be crazy, but not in a way that costs goals. Anyone who comes out of their goalmouth and collects the ball at the feet of a 6ft 4" striker going full pelt, has to be regarded as slightly mad. I'm certainly not expecting a rival to the mad Brazilian, but more of a Tyrer MK2.

Telling you just how wrong you where by syling all the crap saying I don't know anything,
Then he signs so you know head look twice when crossing the road on match day because my foot might slip of the brakes

Clearly an absolute thicko. And is that a threat to run you over? I'd be reporting that mate.

It’s 100% nowhere near £150k. It’s also heavily on the add on extras side of things.

Aside from the fact he's threatened to run him down he wants reporting just to get rid of the idiot from the board. There is annoying stuff that you just wash over and there is stuff that doesnt have a place on here.

Weirdly you can’t seem to even report a message.

Karma will always come back to get the cheat - a la Wall**all. I think there's got to be something done about this. The refereeing equivalent of Reform party needed?

Similar procedure. If a keeper goes down injured without a clear injury sustained, play restarts with a corner to the opposition. Bad luck if it’s a genuine injury, but a corner is awarded, but in reality how many keepers suffer injury of note in a game.
