Pepple+ please. He'll make a player - an improved Pepple V2.1 would be great but I think he needs to develop

Probably impossible to accurately calculate - yet hasn't there been a relatively large number of Tairn players settle in the area through the decades?

Might be wrong, but I seem to remember a list being compiled in response to that freakish 'Two Mass/Carlsberg/Heisenberg/Gerbil/Whatever' character claiming no one would come here because of our supposedly negative fanbase some years ago.

Either way there's undoubtedly been a positive atmosphere engendered around CFC over the last few years, a tribute to everyone running and supporting our club...

I'd still sign the actual Michael Cheek.

Yep.

He's one of a few opposing players that stick in the memory.

Cheek would be a good signing for a year if we could shift madden. But has cook ever played with a bigger lad as the centre forward? We had armand before but he as more a back up, and can’t think of who he had at Pompey.

Was it Michael smith? Who is a bigger lad I suppose

If I’ve got this right I think we have a squad of 18 players as Cook, Jessop, Rinaldo, Boot & Hemmings don’t count as being either goalkeepers or under age.

As such, we allowed a further 4 signings plus any number of U21 players.

We have 2 RBs and 2 LBs but only 3 CBs so, logically, this is a position we can be expected to further strengthen. If Donacien agrees a new contract I don’t expect any further changes at RB unless we bring in an U21 player or move one out.

We have 9 players competing for the various roles in our “2” and “3” so, maybe again, we might be looking for a bit more youth in these areas. The 9 includes Hobson who has hardly had a look in though!

Up front we have Grigg & Madden although I prefer the latter behind the main striker and not as a lone striker. If Madden is preferred as one of our “3” does that leave room for a couple of younger strikers to be brought in?

Possibly, our business is about done apart from strengthening the CB and CF positions and then looking at released U21s and the loan market.

Pretty certain we'll be seeing a couple of exits before too long, Dave.

I'm also pretty certain the two positions you quote will be where established players will be recruited alongside a couple of young loanees later in the summer...

Gunner Elliot will also be training with 1st team, I've no idea if he's signed a professional contract (maybe LN or the club can clarify).

Yes, I think he could be named in the squad but as an U21 year old does not impact on the allowed total of 22.

We register cook as he’s classed as ‘home grown’ which has something to do with years trained at club under a certain age. If we didn’t have that we’d only be able to name 6 subs. Awful rule.

I think you might be right, Chris.

I expect 2 or 3 departures which, in turn, will create space for further incomings as the squad is in transition.

I wonder if we’ll start the season with one or two under contract not named int the squad again, or at least start the season having been told they won’t be named in the squad to pressure them to take a move elsewhere before the end of August deadline?

I'm just part way through the latest series of that Wrexham documentary, the episode where they spend a bit of time with Mullins and Ollie Palmer.

Whether you're a player or a fan, it's a good episode and demonstrates that despite the joys of football, it can be absolutely brutal for players who have contributed significantly at a club but they've now reached their ceiling. They're angry, feel betrayed, both feel they are very much part of the Wrexham family and want to remain there but admit their time at the club is over.

It does get you thinking. For any new club / manager taking these players on, you've got to deal with that too, where a player's head and heart is at another club.

Paddy Madden??

I can see them both in for pre season to have a look at how they’ve recovered first before

They’ve been offered deals already so just a case of if they sign or not now.

In negotiation: Ollie Banks, Ryan Boot, Janoi Donacien, John Fleck, Kyle McFadzean, Ash Palmer & Tyrone Williams.
