Nurse!

Of the four strong rumours, what I reckon will be the best trio have signed so far. Markanday was too good for League Two the moment he set foot on the pitch at Crewe and continued to really make his mark. The club must see Hemming as an investment if they’ve paid a fee. Stirk seems bang on for what we need, too.

Not we’re not, we’re doing exactly what we did after the Wembley defeat, we’re assembling a squad right at the onset of the season

My mind went back to 1990 when the only signing was John Cooke, but I get what you mean and fair point

squad shaping up nicely and clear there is a real strategic plan in place, we have experience in the building but have also signed players now in that 22-28 bracket, wonder if the next signings will be in the under 23 age bracket?

Why? Not a chance we are doing that! Why would you hang on til January when you could be way off the pace and generally it’s harder to get decent players in then, as last season proved, and more expensive.

That’s top of the nonsense you’ve posted.

He’s either going to be involved with Stoke or league one bound. Unless we offer a deal they can’t turn down then they’ll want to see him playing higher up than league two.

So you know this as a fact or just your opinion? So he's involved with Stoke or league 1 bound unless we offer better? which is it? would he want to come?

Neither you nor me have any real clue, opinions are fine lets stick with that.

Whole host of reasons he’s not league 2 bound to us or anyone else in my opinion. Far more chance of us getting someone like Brown at Derby.

After the Mason Bennet loan I’m not too worried that we don’t!

Pleased about that and it puts to an end of any rumours or wishful thinking about him joining us.

I'm just part way through the latest series of that Wrexham documentary, the episode where they spend a bit of time with Mullins and Ollie Palmer.

Whether you're a player or a fan, it's a good episode and demonstrates that despite the joys of football, it can be absolutely brutal for players who have contributed significantly at a club but they've now reached their ceiling. They're angry, feel betrayed, both feel they are very much part of the Wrexham family and want to remain there but admit their time at the club is over.

It does get you thinking. For any new club / manager taking these players on, you've got to deal with that too, where a player's head and heart is at another club.

Almost echo’s of the Ollie Banks interview, although his feeling were more of sadness and disappointment I think. But I sort of thought at the time maybe not the best interview to view if your a York City supporter.

Obviously a side of the game that very few fans give a thought to, especially fans of clubs like ours that over recent seasons have had more players they were glad to see the back of than sad to see go.

They may have an affiliation to a club, remember when Ollie first came here how he spoke about FC Utd? It’s a job, and like all jobs we have where we hate it, where we turn up and do what we are paid to do and occasionally have one where we really part of the family. Football is a bit more brutal because it’s all on a fixed term contract

Very very few players have a true loyalty to a club - how many like blathers would take a decent pay cut at the end of a contract to stay when he could have got more elsewhere?

Lester I think had a real affinity because he was able to be in his comfort zone, and could probably really enjoy playing football for the live of football for the first time in a long time, and had the rapport with the fans without the pressure of playing at the higher levels he’d previously been at.
A new hope.

Make no mistake, Jack Lester also had a very fat pay cheque each month throughout his time with us.

It's a job and a business, they know how it works - they replaced the person before them; be better than your competitors, simple. If you are the second choice in that position, don't moan, keep your head down, play your part, work hard. If it doesn't work out, leave, get another club, or retrain and get a different job, like everyone else has to do. I have zero sympathy. I bet they gave the redundant steelworkers the same amount of sympathy.

I wonder who we've got lined up in the striker department? I'll be happy to see a young loanee come in like Bim Pepple, or even Brown from Derby. I don't have a clue regarding who we could bring in on loan from clubs further up the pyramid, but a young Michael Owen score alike wouldn't go a miss.

I'd like to think we'll sign a big, mobile striker. One from the same mould as Michael Cheek will do!
