Yeah he was definitely in the states a few years ago. Around 2009, I somehow ended up getting his Xbox gamertag and we played a bit of Fifa now and then. Very friendly chap, although frighteningly easy to beat at the auld virtual kickball.

I think we were 4-0 p against a poor Stockport side managed by Chris Turner when De Bolla (finally) scored and I jumped so wide I inadvertently punched a woman in the face on the Kop. Then the goal was disallowed.
These go to eleven.

Now he was your prefect example of playing for a contract, great on loan, got the deal, after that he Went from "marvellous" Marvin to mediocre Marvin as soon as the ink dried.

Wasn’t Lee Shaw signed after someone recommended him to Martin Allen in a motorway service station? I’d like to think our recruitment is a bit more scientific nowadays. Shaw was never short of effort but the jump in levels was too much.

I admittedly follow Daniel Wong, Rai Simons and Davide Faupala on Instagram, even though I rarely use it. Wong seems to be playing in the regional Aussie leagues, Simons went back to Bermuda to play there and eat lots and Faupala seems to have retired after touring the world’s footballing backwaters.

Living in Bermuda playing a bit of football and eating doesn’t seem the worst of ways to spend life.

The odd little fact I seem to remember from that “great escape” season is that apparently we were the first team to be bottom of the four main divisions on Christmas Day to actually avoid relegation at the end of that season for 9 years!

I always rated Jamie Lowry.

A quick Google search states he left Chesterfield in 2011/12 season and went to play and later manage down in the South West.

This about Lee Shaw's time at Chesterfield. Sheridan may not have wanted him but what a way to treat a player.

"Before you joined Guiseley, how was it put to you from John Sheridan at Chesterfield? Did he leave the door open to fighting for your place?

He just literally sat me down and said basically ‘you’re gonna be fourth-choice striker, Guiseley have come in for you to go on loan, it’d be good for you to go out and get minutes’ and all that. He’s saying I’m fourth-choice striker but I wasn’t actually playing as a striker, so it was a bit of a funny one really. I knew going into last season that I wasn’t gonna be a part of his plans, because I could just tell from the season before; he was leaving me out all the time. When I was at Guiseley, I was meant to be going into training with Chesterfield, so I was going in at the start. He’d do 11 v 11 on the pitch, so the starting 11 he’s having for the game, against the lads who are gonna be on the bench and a few of the youth team, and I was there and he made me sit out and watch. So I didn’t bother showing my face all season; I didn’t go in, he didn’t contact me, I didn’t contact him. Obviously didn’t like me for some reason or another, I’m not really sure. Different managers and different opinions, different ways of playing."

The more I hear about Sheridan and his second spell at this club the more I dislike the guy. Him and Rowe were dark periods in the clubs recent history.

Shaw was nowhere near good enough. It happens. He got paid.
