Sheckleford was getting better when he got injured, but I'll agree that Campbell is very much, work in progress and will, most likely, be loaned out, barring injuries 🤔.

I was disappointed to see Campbell have another year, hopefully someone takes him on loan.

Sheckleford I don’t mind as back up but if we want promotion feel we need to greatly improve

Campbell has played so few games that I'd suggest no one really knows how good or bad he is. I can't remember him making the type of mistakes that unequivocally label him 'not good enough'. Power and pace aren't a problem so maybe he can kick on.

Was impressed with him pre season and then boom! Injuries turned him into the forgotten man

Remember yesterday when you said we’ve likely missed out on all 4 suggested signings and then we signed Markanday literally a few hours after your post?

Does it get boring being perpetually wrong lol

And now you’re here bitching about how many right backs we’ve got

I don’t mind Shecks but he can’t stay fit. I wouldn’t trust Donacien to play more than 10 games either. We can’t risk what we went through last season happening again.

shecks isnt dynamic enough going forward. rarely takes a man on and gets down the outside. always seems to stop, pass it inside or backwards. hopefully there is a more mobile, young, tanton esque (without the injuries) we can bring in on loan

We have to trust Cook & Co and work within a budget.

We don’t know what sort of deal has been offered to Donacien but whatever the deal is it must be deemed right for the club. Nobody knows better than the management how much last season’s injuries cost the club. Not just in potential points but in serious hard cash.

However, RB has been a problem area for more than one season. You can go back to Carline & King and, for me, no player has been fit enough since to nail down this position for themselves. Mandeville has probably played has many consecutive games at RB as anyone. As such, I think it is a position which needs addressing with a player with a lesser injury record.

Sheckleford really let himself down in the Walsall game (league away), he switched off completely and was heavily at fault for some of the goals. I remember Cook trying to protect him at the time, but you could tell he was fuming underneath. I don’t think Sheckleford’s featured since, has he?

Unfortunately, I can see him ending up back in non-league. As it stands, he just doesn’t seem to offer the level of quality or consistency Cook is demanding from this squad.

Donacien , Shecks, Mandeville VDC in that order

You can’t just carry on buying right backs and pay players who aren’t making the 22 senior player squad

Gus Scott-Morris’ name cropped up on twitter yesterday. Southend right-back. 17 goals and 5 assists in 44 appearances from RB last year.

RWB. Pretty sure Southend play a back 3 with wing backs.

Donacien hasn’t signed has he? Vdc will hopefully be loaned out and Mandeville was just filling in at right back really wasn’t he. See him kore of a squad player this year.

He played 3 or 4 games after the Walsall game but ended up with a season ending calf injury against Notts County.

If memory serves me correct he was carrying a niggling injury into the County game.

So would you rather have a new right back over that lot or a left back covering for Gordon?

I'd imagine we are looking for a first choice right and left back.

Shecks is a solid RB but last season his season was badly disrupted by injuries.

He can get forward and put a cross in as he did in the cup at vicarage road, he just doesn't do it on a consistent basis.

We must be watching a different player Because Shecks hasn't got pace can't beat a man with skill and is very limited going forward apart from one cross against Watford.
