Fully agree.

I might be in a minority but I certainly wouldn’t pay a fee for him. Yes, he crossed the ball with a frequency but his crosses to assists ratio was quite low from what I recall. Secondly, he was not particularly reliable from a defensive point of view.

If we are to bring in a new LB he needs to be better than Gordon and I don’t think Sparkes is.

Yep that was the issue with any deal for Sparkes, the fee that Posh would want for him. When we already have a more than capable left back in Gordon do you spend money on another one then only be able to play one of them.

I'm not fussed about Sparkes. Suspect the investment required would have been more than his worth to us. Not great defensively.
