Not sure I see an issue paying for a keeper, even at 150k?

.
He'd have to be absolutely top drawer. I'd rather use the money towards one of our top transfer targets that's probably now on his way to a southern based league 2 club.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

No but same intent

£150k is probably the absolute final figure. I’d hazard a guess it’ll be an upfront figure paid over 2/3 years with the rest in add ons.

Hazarding a wild guess is the same as making something up 😂

Drama queen, how the chuff would you know who our targets are and if we've lost out on any of them, nevermind to a southern based league 2 club? Utter nonsense.

Markanday in an Ainsworth team would be a sight to see, he’s about 2 foot too short

Keeper is one of the main places in a team, decent keeper is a great start to building a strong side and I see no issue with paying to make sure we get the right person between the sticks.

If you’re referring to a former loanee then what you’re referring to is the complete opposite to what I’ve been told.

There is no issue spending money on a keeper but As far as I can find, and I stand to be corrected, only two times ever has a League Two club paid £150k or more for a keeper. Both by Peterborough for Shwan Jalal and Joe Lewis. I’d be absolutely astonished if as a league two club we are dropping anywhere near £150k on a keeper.

if I remember rightly we paid £100,000 for John Turner from Torquay 45 years ago but we were the equivalent of a 1st division team at the time lol

That’s £428,000 in today’s money. And we were probably pot less back then

I think it is more likely to be a matter of when not if Markanday is a full time player here. By the sounds of it the club are offering him a pretty decent wage and what's better than being paid a lot of money? Being paid a lot of money to be at a club where you thrived.

I'd just prefer us to put this rumoured £150k into the pot for a new defender, a more mobile progressive midfielder or a striker with Pepple's work rate but better finishing and physicality.

In my opinion we could have gone up in the top 3 had Boot played 46 games in the league last season, hence why I don't think its one of the more important positions to strengthen this year.

Most important signing for me would be Booot, who can better him if he continues last seasons form.

£150k for a keeper is mental really, hopefully it’s false

Markandy should clearly be the main target

We were quoted as paying £100k for each of Billy Mercer and Mike Pollitt also

I think a keeper is the least of our problems, boot is without a doubt the best ball playing keeper we have ever had, this is backed up by other managers in his careers assessments, I’d bring in an old no2 who does not mind being a no2
Priority is right back striker and a more advanced midfielder in that order
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

Just because a GK could be first through the door and a transfer fee - doesn't mean its a priority
