I realise this is basically a training exercise but that's like us playing a Sunday league side. They finished bottom of their league last season without winning a game.

Nobody moans when we play Matlock etc. It’ll do a job toward fitness, team bonding and a nice little sweetener for anyone that is thinking of signing.

You think they’ll be as good as Matlock?

I know nothing about them but considering Liam Jessop gets called to the national team and these are a domestic side that lost every game last season, I’m not sure they’ll be much above Sunday league.

I get that it’s part of the early pre-season prep and will have a purpose but those thinking of making the trip must surely be a little disappointed?

It’ll be like watching a game against Doe Lea on the Erwin Training ground but with the sun out.
