If a regular penalty taker puts it in the same corner every time, then fair enough.
The 'specialist' penalty taker in the team should be able to 'mix it up' which then analysis goes out the window and luck for the keeper come into play.
I'm my penalty taker put it bottom left every time, he wouldn't be my penalty taker much longer!

Shiner, keepers bottom right every time. The keeper knew Shiner knew but the outcome was always the same!

speaking to mike jones on saturday. he confirmed that he will be doing pre-season with the club and then hopefully helping with the fitness/ coaching side of things.

Individuals like Mike epitomise why we've progressed and done well as a club in recent years.

Played every game like it was his last and appreciated being part of something special.

Spot on, and if young players can't relate to a professional like Mike Jones, I feel for them. He gave 100% every game, and I'm sure he'll do the same as part of the backroom staff.

That's more a less what he said to me in the gym as he put all the injured players since Christmas thru there rehab and he was just awaiting confirmation from the club what his options were

I know this was tongue in cheek but for those who do complain.
Football has evolved, no longer does a backroom team consist of a Manager and a bloke with a flat cap, a bucket and a sponge.
We now have statto's, a medical team, coaches for all positions. It'no longer just about training there is the fitness, conditioning, nutrition, physiological side. If he can spit his time between the senior squad and the academy and install, in them, what he possesses, this will be a cracking appointment.

If he’s qualified it’s great.

When the set piece coach is added it will a bonus

Does this cover the throw in coach or is that a separate role?

I'd be happy for us to sign Pepple to develop from the bench. He's certainly got something. We would still need another quality forward to go along with Grigg.

I generally agree but it's important not to lose sight of your (not specifically yours) surroundings.

The gap between income and expenditure for many clubs, including ours, has never been greater and I often wonder if football managers had to finance clubs out of their own pockets, how many staff and players they could manage with. The same applies to players' wages and agents' fees.

Pepple has real potential, and I’m not surprised so many clubs are looking at him. He’s by no means the finished article and we know that from his loan stint, with much of his work in and around the box quite scruffy at times. But, his physical attributes are very hard to find at this level. To be so big & strong, yet still as quick as he is, is a trait of players playing higher than league 2. I also thought he gave it everything when on the pitch & worked his knackers off, seemed to have a really infectious personality too so likely a good character around the place aswell.

As others have said, I’m okay either way. If we bring him in then great, hes another we can develop & improve over the next few seasons to become a big player for us / earn us a few £’s, if he doesn’t sign then it probably doesn’t effect our short term goal of promotion this season too much either as he’s unlikely to come in as a starter, will be more of an impact sub / rotation option most likely.

I like pepple. Will only get better with time. I'd be happy with 3 or 4 of the young loanees from last season, to develop, on permanent deals.
Here we go again!

Yeah, I think he fits the profile the ownership mentioned, young, hungry, one to develop, and asset who can earn us some money in a few years.

That said, I don’t think we’ll get him
