Flip side of all this….midfield two of fleck and morsy? All the fussing about no legs in midfield.

I don't get their logic.
A proven Championship promotion winner and leader, paid peanuts compared to their parachute payment. Even if their destiny lies in consolidation then they need him. They are disposing of a foundation stone.
Stupid.

If we paid 4k a week on his wages they might take it instead of paying him up. The article says interest from the middle east so that would scupper anyone in the efl in wages anyway

I doubt they'd concern themselves with such chicken feed (to them).

Morsy no legs in midfield. Don’t think he’d have just played in the Prem if so

Before the Saudi league started up, I'd had thought maybe, but with all the money involved with that enterprise, I'd doubt it. Obviously he won't be a big a draw as some, but a two year contract would really be too good for him to turn down. We can dream though.

I sure that on leaving Town Morsey said that one day he'll be back?

Anyone that thinks Morsy is coming to town should access mental health services

Morsy will rightly so join a side in the Saudi League for a well deserved career ending payoff. He certainly deserves it.

Some extremely interesting stats in that article- especially around Boot (not good) and defensive midfield (not good) and Pepple (not good)

I would guess JonB was referring to the plethora of negative remarks about our senior players, but you do tend to jump in on other posters.

Think that is a very accurate summary and would expect the staff to have been working hard for a while on the same areas.

Yep, great article James.

I assume these stats are equally accessible to our analysts. It would be interesting to know whether their interpretation of what's needed is the same as his.
Banks a better tackler than Naylor? Who'd have thought it? Not me.

Drop in the ocean compared to what stats are available to analysts these days

We’ve had a season of folk whining about too many old players and if we sign morsy we’d likely start with him and fleck potentially. Be a slight change of tack by some folk on here.

Don’t get me wrong I’d love morsy back but some folk would have to change their thinking on what they want us to sign.

Well it’s consistent with what a few of us think. Throw in a new LB and the author’s shopping list is virtually identical to mine.

The skill is in the interpretation.
For example, based on those numbers I might recommend that we need 2 goalies.
