Don't think I've ever seen a footballer on film nearly breaking down cos he's leaving a club. Top man. I think I saw some of his best football last season.

Come on let’s not let our heart over rule our brains, he’s a good bloke and gave his all for the club but saying he played some of his best football this last season really is reaching

After watching that part of me wishes something could have been sorted out, he will be a big miss.

He has been a credit to the Club, both on and off the pitch. Hope he does well at his new club.

We will miss Ollie. Some of his diagonal pin point cross field passes were superb. And he liked to have a shot at goal if he got a chance. A genuinely good guy and York should be more than pleased, they are getting a good person and footballer.

Banks was our second best option in the 10 after Dobra. Great player who oozes class and also got stuck in. As others have said, right move for him but I would have loved to have kept him for another couple of years.

Cook obviously wasn't too fussed

With all due respect, I am not sure you're in a position to say how Paul Cook feels about it. He has to look at the bigger picture which includes his budget. He undoubtedly likes Ollie Banks (he has signed him twice) but its likely he has plans in place that exceed the next 12 months. Ollie obviously wants to play as long as he can and if the rumours of a 3 year deal are true then Banks has done exactly the right thing and so has Cookie. Cook openly speaks out about how much he liked Quigs and King so "wasn't too fussed" doesn't cut it with me. I think he very much was "fussed"

If we have the transfer window everyone expects us to have then Banks becomes a squad player on limited game time. Great servant but the time is right to move on. More than likely offered a 1 year deal on reduced terms also, he has got a 3 year deal i believe at York and probs the same if not better than we offered. Looks and sounds like York are going to have another year throwing money at it. 3 year deal at his age, close to home so he wont need to move away. No brainer, wish him all the best!

He was fussed enough to play him 40 times last season and offer him a deal for next year. Just couldn’t commit to as long a contract as York were willing to offer.

I think Ollie can be very proud of the roll he has played in getting us back in the EFL and stabilizing us
We need players who aren't journeymen so well done Ollie and all the best for your time at York
