This club means a lot to him and he has served us really well.

I'm guessing our offer wasn't anything near what York could offer in terms of contract length, minutes on the pitch or wages. At his age and nearing the end of his career, it had to be the right decision for him.
Good servant for the club, wish him well.

In the two spells he's been with us, I've thoroughly enjoyed watching him play and I hope that we see him back at the club when he gets the time.
York have got themselves a very decent player, but for us to move up a level we couldn't hope to compete with the deal he's got by leaving.
Good luck Ollie and I hope you're back in league two after next season.

Banks top of League Two stats for accurate long balls per 90 minutes- at 6.7.
Second…. Oldaker at 5.3 per 90. 5th- Jamie Grimes at 4.7. Although the overall success rate of those three varies somewhat.

Pre the Trust/Kirks' takeover and Cookie's return in 2022, we spent far too many seasons witnessing people (officials, managers and players) pass through the club who shouldn't have been anywhere near it. In fact, the majority of them we were desperate to see the back of.
It's an odd feeling watching Ollie's interview, mainly because, in recent years, it has been rare for us to say goodbye to a player with such a long association with the club — someone who has contributed significantly to our success and who also happens to be a decent person
I think it's probably fair to say that if Ollie's worth to us over the next 24 to 36 months was going to be greater than his worth to York, then he wouldn't be leaving.
The very best of luck, Ollie, and thank you.
EDIT - I forgot to say, full marks to the club and Ollie for doing the interview as his contribution deserved more recognition than a paragraph in a press release.

Yes, Ollie Banks certainly can stroke the ball about sweetly. I don't know who we're going to bring in to replace him, but Paul Cook must have got someone special lined up.
