I see David McGoldrick might be off to franchise FC

Worked with Warne before at Derby hasn’t he, & two ex teammates there in Crowley & Mendez Laing that he’s apparently close to. Notts have offered him reduced terms and he’s turned it down on principle rather than the actual figures according to those at Notts end.

Can see that MK move happening, especially because they’ll not hesitate to increase his current wage never mind match it.

And Duncs certainly knew how to pick up gems on a shoe string budget and mould them into a championship winning squad

Was it JD that signed Dave Waller from Shrewsbury? IIRC he paid something like £3k and DW was injured at the time.

Mkd have a good manager and will surely be favourites to win the league

They are. 8/1. We are 9/1.

The last played he signed before leaving for Ipswich if Wikipedia is to be believed.

I remember seeing DW on the back of the DT aiming to score 5 goals before the end of the season (86/87?) but don't recall him featuring.

Didn't he reject a new contract and Paul Hart wanted circa £400k for him after we were beaten by Cambridge in the play off final? Just before he got the injury that effectively finished his pro career.

The 400k figure was banded about and yet we signed nozzer for ten percent of that.
A new hope.

150k on a non league striker who’s turning 30 in August seems like a rogue bit of business

With so many players in L- and L2 - even championship players (for us) out of contract I’d be very disappointed if we paid £150k in transfer fees

If Mr Kirk wants to leave a legacy it’s one of a Cfc being self sustaining at as high a level as possible because the set up, infrrand culture is right.

Exeter.
A new hope.

£250k would surely be our top offer? Great player but no need to break the bank.

Screams to me that he’s after a nice big new contract from York so getting agent to leak/build up interest. Not a chance Uggla would let him go I’d have thought, especially with a couple of years left on his deal.

Once highly rated by many on here and one many would have liked us to sign, Anthony Mancini of Hartlepool, has been released by them.

Seems to have dropped off the cliff a bit in terms of where his career was heading.

Looked class against us for about 20 mins(?)until he got injured and never seemed to get back to that level since his recovery. Cracking game of football that was that day by the way.

Certainly struggled to get on the pitch since that injury against us. 33 appearances since he was injured against us at the end of August 2023. He came back and played a few between end of Dec 23 until end of Jan 24 before just one more appearance in March that season. Last season he was fairly regular first half of the season then only appeared twice in March after playing on New Years Day.
