Seems Cook signed him whilst at Ipswich for £500k + add-ons.

Right age, right height, possibly right connections???

Morsy came from Vale too, right? It’s written in the AI drawn stars!
These pretzels are making me thirsty!

One of the worst players I've ever had the displeasure of watching. To add, unless he's grown up off the field in the last season - he is NOT the type of player Cook would enjoy working with.

Looked good for Salford this year tbf.

In fairness, they’re a team full of absolute w⚓️s, so if what SpireRam (who will know him a lot better than most of us) is saying is true, it could’ve been a good match for him.

But also, he could’ve matured and changed. Based on last seasons performances, he’d improve our team

I’m not saying he’s not an absolute bellend off the pitch as I don’t have a clue. I’m just saying performance wise, he’s done well this year for Salford.

As has been pointed out on this thread, Cook will do his homework and if there’s any doubts in his mind that he may disrupt the dressing room then he won’t sign him.

The fact he actually played so much for Salford is a positive sign. I just don’t think he’ll be signing on the dotted line if Cook gets a character reference from PW haha.
I was hoping out of the ex derby contingent we’d have a go at NML. But he’s joined PW at the franchise. Also wouldn’t have helped with our OAP brigade.

Edit: Just to add, by no means am I saying he's a bell end. He was a nice enough lad. Just really lacked in the commitment and mentality department with regards to being a pro footballer. But as touched on, the fact he played so much this year is a good sign. A lot can change in a year and I hope the footballing ability is included in that because from what I saw on a regular basis - he was no better than anything we had in the middle this year.

I wonder if we will go back in for the York forward that failed the medical in January. If his knee has been sorted

He ended up having surgery within weeks of that falling through. He did play a few games at the end of the season.

Once again I quote the late, great John Duncan….a £100k mid season signing is an end of season free.

And Duncs certainly knew how to pick up gems on a shoe string budget and mould them into a championship winning squad

True. Although he was happy for the club to pay good money for Holland, Mercer, Ebdon and Williams. [all excellent signings]
I’ll assume Lea signed Jason Lee not Duncs.

But the players you mention I doubt would have been available on a free in the summer.
Re the joke/disaster that was Jason Lee, I think the myth was that he was signed by Norts as a “surprise” for Duncan and when he turned up at the training ground JDs words were along the lines of “ what the eff are you doing here?”

I recall a Radio Sheffield interview with Duncs after the signing.
RS: a great signing isn’t it?
JD: Erm, er, I just hope the chairman has enough money left for a new midfielder
