The posts on twitter from banks and oldaker were polar opposites of each other, 1 seemed to post from the heart, thanking the fans and everyone at the club, the other just seemed to use an Internet template to say bye..

I'll let you work out which was which
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

To be fair, Oldaker has never come across as a naturally loquatious communicator in his post-game interviews and suchlike.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

He didn't see very talkative when I saw him in Armisteads to be fair.

Correct Ash. I don't think he liked it when I told him he needed to move the ball quicker. He was out with Berry & Drummond. Lights on no sound all of them tbh.

You want to be thankful Drummond didn’t drop you and repeatedly put the boot in

Why would he? A 60 year old fella who’s never played the game at any sort of decent level telling him how the game should be played wouldn’t go down well, I wouldn’t have liked it and I was an very average division 8 Sunday league striker. You know next to nowt about football which is ok on here of course but not quite so much when you are talking to folk who actually know the game inside and out.

I have a fear probably irrational that Markanday won't be the same player if he returns on a permanent.
Somewhere in my head I think it's happened before but for the life of me can't think who it was.

LM is irreplaceable in terms of what he gives you with effort, availability, versatility and quality. I would be absolutely gutted if we let him go, and fear that’s one we could regret if we do so.

I think we have to be rational in our thoughts here.

If Markanday, or another player with pace and goals in him to play on the right of the “three”, is signed along with a proper RB and central midfield is strengthened with pace and power where does Liam play?

He is an excellent member of the squad but will being sat on the bench with regularity and a view to covering several positions should that be required during a game be right for him?

I don’t know if that might be the case but Cook did try and bring in more pace during January with the signing of 2 wide players in Duffy and Olakigbe. Only the latter got regular minutes and that was in front of Mandeville who had had to cover at RB.

I would like Liam to be part of next season’s squad but, for his sake and at his age, he needs to feel he will be considered for starts on a fairly regular basis.

I enjoyed Markanday’s better performances whilst he was with us but there had also been games when he had been very quiet.

However, my main concern is that we witnessed last season how we could be bullied when playing against bigger and more aggressive teams. Most teams appeared to have a height advantage over us and with both Dobra and Markanday in our “three” behind Grigg we hardly provide an aerial challenge.

Isn’t our football mainly played on the floor in open play?

That’s where we like it to be but the opposition don’t always play to our preferences.
