How the Dickens Sunderland pull that off.
If you Google 'throw a game away' the Sheffield Utd badge will pop up with a link to today's match.

Sunderland may have a shit season next season but they’ve done it today. Proper club back in the premier league and bonus they’ve beat the blunts and wilder in the process. They’ll be under no illusions that’s next season will be hard but so what. Good to see a side going with young talent trying to make them better.

They were crap first half like it was too much for them but better side second half. They’ve some decent attacking players in that side. Fitting that the local lad who is of for a few quid scored the winner.

Suspect my 7yr old daughter is having the time of her short life currently….a few short weeks after walking in the house singing about will grigg being on fire!!

Lovely to hear Radio Sheff saying how unfair it was to be denied by VAR, when it hadn't been in use all season. What they're saying is that it was unfair that their unfair goal was disallowed.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

Can’t stop laughing, one Blunt fan I know said they would win this year because they only loose finals when it’s sunny so don’t know whose fault it is this time

I’m not a massive fan of var but that was a perfect example of where it works. Neither ref or assistant can see clearly and video gets to the right decision. Should be no arguments. Should be more concerned they barely got out of their own half second half.

To be fair they should have made it 2-0 not long before Sunderland equalised.

Naturally I have been very sympathetic to my Blades supporting colleague's.

It's a reasonable point.

I think what we are seeing is linesmen no longer having the bottle to make decisions. Did the lino put his flag up today? Just like last week, when the real reason Henderson wasn't sent off was that the lino didn't put his flag up.

Though there was an incident in the second half when the linesman on the far side waved frantically for what he saw a foul (a push to the floor) and the referee theatrically waved away any claim for a foul.

Saw that too.

Lino stood 10 yards away flagging for a Sunderland foul but ref 30 yards away overrules him.

Didn't watch it but in general it's much better for a ref to overrule a decision than for a lino to do nowt. What could the rationale possibly be for the lino not signalling Henderson's handball?

Was a great ending to the match and I’m made up for the Sunderland fans. Won’t be much sleep in the red and white half of Newcastle tonight, let’s put it that way!!!

just watched it on delay without knowing the result, wow, well done sunderland, we seem to follow them on ups and downs, awful game, little quality in it, sheff u messed up some opportunities but don't get that they dominated the game, they did fo rthe opening 5 mins but after that a fairly 50/50, sunderland took their chances better in the end. oddly though this result probably keeps wilder in a job beyond christmas as had they gone up, they'd have struggled and he'd most likely been sacked at before xmas.

Thems the rules, no VAR during the season or play off semis but there for the final.
East stand second class citizen.
