They were crap first half like it was too much for them but better side second half. They’ve some decent attacking players in that side. Fitting that the local lad who is of for a few quid scored the winner.
Suspect my 7yr old daughter is having the time of her short life currently….a few short weeks after walking in the house singing about will grigg being on fire!!

I’m not a massive fan of var but that was a perfect example of where it works. Neither ref or assistant can see clearly and video gets to the right decision. Should be no arguments. Should be more concerned they barely got out of their own half second half.

To be fair they should have made it 2-0 not long before Sunderland equalised.

I think what we are seeing is linesmen no longer having the bottle to make decisions. Did the lino put his flag up today? Just like last week, when the real reason Henderson wasn't sent off was that the lino didn't put his flag up.

Though there was an incident in the second half when the linesman on the far side waved frantically for what he saw a foul (a push to the floor) and the referee theatrically waved away any claim for a foul.

Saw that too.
Lino stood 10 yards away flagging for a Sunderland foul but ref 30 yards away overrules him.

Didn't watch it but in general it's much better for a ref to overrule a decision than for a lino to do nowt. What could the rationale possibly be for the lino not signalling Henderson's handball?

Thems the rules, no VAR during the season or play off semis but there for the final.
