Having seen some of the stuff he posts in the Fans Facebook Group, I wouldn’t give it a second thought.

The bits floating around the likes of myself, CFC91 & Sam are the club are bang after Markandy. His agent appears to be pushing him to sign for us. Location isn’t an issue. We’ve offered him a salary that takes him up to the highest earners in our history & he’s told people (ex teammates) he’s very seriously considering what we’ve offered.

Madden - to Scunthorpe is also being banded about.

Would love to see him back, but not at 'any cost'.

I’ve no inside info or anything like that but all that about Markanday doesn’t surprise me.

Don’t think you need to be a self acclaimed ‘ITK’ to know that the club are going to be in for Markanday, I think that’s fairly obvious. The issue is, there will be plenty of suitors in league 1 for him that could probably blow us out the water financially even if we are offering our biggest ever wage to him, so it comes down to how much he wants to play for Cook again. Clearly played the best football of his career under Cook, but not all players are motivated by that unfortunately.

Madden departing would be best for all parties, clearly hasn’t worked and likely to be on a decent wage as we signed him as a L2 winning captain. Be surprised if Scunthorpe can afford him like, unless they’ve come into a bit of money?

Mate I’m definitely not “acclaimed ITK” I just get bits and pieces sent to me from a couple of reliable people. More right than wrong but I’ll always share on here what I get told.

As for Scunny, they’ve got lads on £2k per week in the NLN. They aren’t short / aren’t fussed about throwing big wages about.

Can leave with his head held high, been a major part of our success recently and still a decent player. I’d have been fine with him staying.

Same here, he's been a total credit to the club, on and off the pitch. I don't blame him at all if he's been offered a longer contract.

That’s fair enough mate and I will say that yourself & CFC 91 are normally accurate with the things I’ve seen you post, but just so used to some people on here / twitter putting out bits they’ve heard & claiming it’s gospel which then ends up not happening (we all know who those people are)!

That’s interesting re. Scunny, and actually good to hear because although I definitley think it’s best for all parties that Madden moves on, I was worried there wouldn’t be any suitors with funds available to actually take him! He’s played there before as well so would be a good place to go and end his career.

Markanday is 23 now and got just over 60 appearances in first team football under his belt. He said when with us previously he wanted to be playing and that it was his first real run playing regular football. He wants to be playing and he’s knows he will get that here.

He doesn’t strike me as one chasing the money so that gives us a chance as does playing for Paul cook.

CFC91 plays for my football team so you’d expect we have similar contacts / sources 😂

LM7 could be on his way out. There’s a rumour a club have put an offer in. Cook wants to keep him but respects his time spent here and what he’s offered. But allegedly explained his game time will be more limited this season due to expected incomings.

Let’s hope that’s the case mate, would love him back.

LM is irreplaceable in terms of what he gives you with effort, availability, versatility and quality. I would be absolutely gutted if we let him go, and fear that’s one we could regret if we do so.

That a bit sad but more exciting I suppose.

Interesting (meaningless) stat re: markandy. We scored more ppg without him than we did with him.

1.64 without vs 1.43 with.

Would still rather he was here than not.
Here we go again!

More concerned it will start a precedent and IMO we really need to be heading to being self sufficient for the future.
