Hi Pete
Under the SLA, is the club not allowed to reduce the number of community tickets on the rare occasions that there is demand from our own fans?

I'm thinking that the capacity for away fans in the East Stand could be extended by moving home fans to North. Little East becomes Bigger East.

No, the Trust pays for 500 STs. With the additional STs in the North, the East Stand STs would exceed the capacity if transfered.

I cannot see how restricting Spireites to accomodate visiting supporters benefits the club unless we have limited supporters.

Without Phil and Ash, there would be no L2 play-off semi on Friday. As the de facto owners, they, above all others, get to choose who they give freebies out to. Imho

Reserving tickets for people don't make them 'freebies' as you put it. The EFL playoff regulations don't permit that, the full price has to be paid by someone.

As you wrote earlier Pete, this only [potentially] applied to the Donny match. 1 match all season. Not worth losing potential future home fans for a few extra one off quid.

I’m a season ticket holder smack bang in the middle of the east stand and would be absolutely livid if I was moved from my seat for an away fan.

East stand away seat capacity will be dictated by the size of the concourse underneath with the dividing doors closed. It’s not simply a case of move the segregation netting as there will be a limit to how many can safely use under the stand.

Unless it’s a full away end paying £22 a ticket compared to 500 ST at £5 game

Why are the trust ST not included in the sales figures?

Quite right. I don't blame Walsall for giving us the minimum 10% like some are doing.

You use the term "I don't blame Walsall" alot in this thread, I and many others do

Their uneducated fans in this case were expecting the full north stand and were p'd off when they realised that wasnt the case anymore something no club has had all season and they duly got the legal requirement % wise. As has been mentioned by another poster Walsall fans are at loggerheads with the club due to their current demise and the powers that be saw an opportunity of appeasement and some Brownie points and therefore changed the configuration of the ground to achieve this by reducing the capacity. I think them using the word "reciprocal" is the key indicator of their Mardy intentions.

No doubt you'll disagree, so be it, but the succinct words of an earlier poster sum it up very well "it appears Walsall conduct their business off the pitch the same as they do it on the pitch " (probably not word perfect cba to check but the gest is there).

If the club don’t charge and put in the money themselves then how is that not a freebie?

For transparency Pete says x number season tickets and 500 Trust.

Read The Power of the Badge and you might understand more of the work the Trust did and does.

Giving 500 tickets to those who potentially can’t afford one now but could be in future or just for the joy of giving something back to the community is to be wholeheartedly applauded.

Thanks
Just exploring ideas so I'm sure I understand the arrangements.

There may come a time in L1 when these North stand Community seats are needed for some matches by home supporters paying full price. If the SLA says they can't have 'em then we know where we stand. On the other hand, the SLA might be altered to guarantee the Trust an average of 500 seats per game, not necessarily blocked together in North.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Out of interest, if the Club did make the middle section subject to such occassional relocations for 26-27 season, would you

1. still buy a season ticket?
2. if so, would you move seat?

I don't think we need to go down that route by the way. ATM. However, it might make commercial sense one day.

As you rightly stated, their uneducated fans were moaning. That's a handful of noisy posters on social media. They don't represent the mass of normal folk. Just like we have a few plonkers ourselves.

I wouldn't want Town reducing our fan ratio for important games just for a few extra quid. I must be a plonker.

You're responding to me being, corrected, for wrongly calling reserved tickets "freebies". Tickets reserved for paying family and friends, who get them ahead of going on sake to season ticket holders. Wrongly, or rightly.

There will always be some complimentaries though that are "freebies".

We must be one of the only set of fans in the country where we have a minority seemingly looking for ways to get more away fans in our ground!

Don't forget to add 'at the expense and/or inconvenience of home fans'. That is the really dim bit.
