601 arrived by small boat yesterday.
Unbelievable figures that show no signs of slowing. And Starmer made no reference to this in his latest lectern lie fest.Time to declare this a national emergency.

And still the Poole Quay Hotel remains empty 50ish yards from the shore, perhaps its being saved for all inclusive boat people.

Correct.
These numbers will continue.
The French don’t want them and these ‘Gimme-Grants’ will continue to see us as the land of milk and honey.
Funny how they arrive here to bleed us dry and when they land stick the middle finger up at us.
We are the laughing stock of the world.

Reports of at least another 300 this morning arriving. Mind boggling numbers bringing huge financial cost to the country and unknown young men into our communities.

I wonder if those who constantly pushed the narrative of, 'good for the economy', 'good for GDP', good for 'cultural enrichment', are still of that opinion.

As previously stated: why would ANYONE who was a surgeon, doctor, lecturer, engineer, etc, not use those amazing brain cells, and fly into the country at a vastly cheaper cost to using the morally bankrupt Albanian trafficking gangs? Fully documented individuals, who's transition through the asylum system would result in a greatly expedited personal process.

At least SKS is doing something after the 14 years of open borders of the Tories.

Yeah he scrapped the Rwanda plan, and made it even tougher for the legit migrants to get here. Whilst doing sweet fa to stop the 1 thing everyone is talking about and costing us billions, stopping the young unidentified boat lads. Yeah TTK is doing something...

Well a YouGuv poll conducted on Starmers own “rivers of blood” moment shows that his remarks have gone down well with over a third of Labour voters polled with 37% agreeing with the sentiment and having no problem with the language being used, and less than a quarter, 21%, of Labour voters polled disagreeing with both the sentiment and the language used.
It seems that a lot of Labour voters have the same concerns that voters of both the Tories and Reform have re immigration.

The people who own it went bankrupt I believe so its owned by the administrators, who no doubt are trying to sell it for the development potential (residential and hotel) so it may be a while before its used for anything...

Starmer is wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.

You don't beat Reform by being an even worse version of them - you beat Reform by being a better version of Labour.

Restore the WFA. Or at least raise the threshold so only the truly well off lose it.

Restore benefit payments to the most vulnerable in society. In fact go further and remove the two child cap.

Restore Border Force and the immigration system to levels capable of reducing the scandalous backlog created by the Badenoch and Jenrick conveniently suffering severe cases of amnesia regarding their record.

Restore safe and legal routes rendering the human traffickers redundant.

Restore international agreements such as the Dublin Accord which obliged other countries to accept removals.

Then confront the myths, misinformation and mindless tropes being peddled by Reform head on.

Point out that with an ageing population and falling birthrate the UK needs migrant workers to do the jobs to pay the taxes to fund the pensions.

Point out that our NHS would collapse overnight without them.

Point out that not just the care sector, but pretty much every other would quickly follow too.

All whilst embracing Labour's historical allies the trade unions to ensure pay and employment practices attract more British born applicants.

Point out it's decades of social housing sold off without replacement that's created homelessness.

Point out it's decades of underfunding that's created disgraceful waiting lists.

Starmer could also point out how many millions foreign students contribute towards universities or the 'Staff Wanted' signs in countless windows following the Brexit supposed, of course, to 'take back control' of all this.

Only for migration to rise from around two hundred thousand to nearly a million under Boris Johnson.

That's Boris Johnson.

However rather than do any of that he chose to further facilitate the Farage led feeding frenzy.

To pander to prejudice.

To parrot none other than Enoch Powell.

I don't know from which demographic he's seeking support, but I do know I'm not a member...

a lot of very important reality in there Chris. you never beat an idiot by getting down to their level, they beat you with experience!

we do need migrant workers - care, building and construction, health, hospitality, food. UK workers dont want the jobs - but its not pay and conditions, its a combination of factors - benefits culture, cash in hand work, they dont like hard work, etc etc. Min Wage is now effectively £25k a year full time equivalent... childcare costs and nursery costs are probably an issue too - but the proportion of earnings being saved (at 12% overall) is as high as its been for a long time. households are shoring up their personal balance sheets and not spending because of all of the uncertainty in the world.

one of the highest ranked risks in the world this year is around information and misinformation. Starmer wont resolve that on his own so he is going to have to trust the process, take decisions that work long term and accept short term drop in popularity. its what politicians used to do...

He cant introduce a WFA with a higher cap as the costs of administering would be higher than the saving and so it would look like spite...

But his real problem is growth. It might be 1% this year or less if they raise taxes in the next budget - and to not raise taxes they will need to fudge the numbers (source chief economist at a major professional services firm). they cant build the houses because we dont have the skilled people. Same applies to public sector capital projects that dont have the skilled resource and also the public sector moves at a glacial pace on these things =- dont think they have heard of agile project management.

But if he can force through some growth, not raise taxes, hope the orange idiot doesnt start throwing economic grenades again, and stick to what he believes is right for the country, he may ride out the storm to better days (rougher seas!). The problem is he doest have beliefs underpinning policy and he flip flops with the wind...

Like? You now have to give legitimate examples; otherwise, it's just in your head - funny he isn't pulling you up on your post....

Point out that with an ageing population and falling birthrate the UK needs migrant workers to do the jobs to pay the taxes to fund the pensions.

Same again. Proper links, please. Not shít made up by Politics Joe.

Point out that our NHS would collapse overnight without them.

And, again...links, with stats; not just James O'Bigot's opinion.

Point out that not just the care sector, but pretty much every other would quickly follow too.

And, once more, cheers....

It's exactly the same rhetoric that was used regarding Brexit and the fruit picking industry collapsing - almost a decade later, nowt of the sort has happened. Tonnes of British fruit and veg filling shelves in all supermarkets for the last ten years.

Tired old left wing rhetoric that’s being left far behind and ever more isolated. Even the latest YouGuv poll shows 37% of Labour voters agree with Starmers “tougher stance”
even though we all know it’s even more lies.
The ones parroting the tired old “tropes and lies” lines are the ones looking tired and outdated.

You'd think the administrators would be looking to secure some easy revenue, before it's flattened. But maybe not.

Creates too many legal hurdles, they will be holding out for a straight sale as the property has planning permission for redevelopment now...
