Pick a man of the match from that..

I’ll wait.

The only man who looked bothered - Jenson Metcalfe.
Mandy gave his all but he isn't a full back.We should be grateful they stopped targeting him second half.

Huge disappointment overall.
We’re playing a team bereft of form and confidence with a full house and fantastic atmosphere.
Every chance to make it a very uncomfortable game for them and we put in a performance like that.

We just let them ease their way into the game without any pressure at all. Literally gave them a goal and then we all knew they’d shithouse for the rest of the game. Let’s be honest, so would we!

There just wasn’t enough urgency at all over the entire game. It was all too comfortable and easy for them.
Very poor for the first leg at home.
We had the chance to take a real stranglehold of the tie and never looked interested in doing so.

But we did have 74% possession…

At what point do fans think this behaviour is exceptional and also that the club won't get fined or dragged through the mud.
Their keeper (amongst others) is a shithouse so why give them the ammo to waste more time and make a complaint.

End of the day we're not as good as we think we are, they did a number on us like a few teams have done this season.
We play the same way every game possession football, happy to play in our own half even when we're 2 goals down. We need to mix it up every now and again, just to make the opposition think a bit.

What disappointed me most was that, having got a decent foothold in the game and starting to look comfortable, as soon as we gave away the first goal we seemed to lose heart for the rest of the half. I didn't see any leadership out there.

Bringing on Pepple to partner Grigg and then farting about with it across the back four for hours at a time summed up the afternoon really.

Fair play to Walsall. They picked themselves up and did a number on us. Them and Bratford have shown that we need some central midfield presence next season, someone who can break up play.

Is that we call wanting it piss poor

A side ravaged by injuries for most of the season who against all the odds got to the play offs, and your post is the best you can offer. Piss poor from you as usual

Over confidence from the fans you only have to look at comments on here, Facebook etc to think we were already there, if most people thought that then did the players, .. we were dreadful, far too lethargic, too slow, too many balls across our backline,wr played into their hands, and they mopped it up, so so poor today.. but an early goal Friday and it's game on.. but we've gotta start with intent

100% mate. I really don't understand why people thought they were 'there for the taking'. They're a decent, well oiled and organised team. They were up there for a reason.

And, as for next season, I have no idea why people think we are going to win it at a canter; you're dreaming. If owt, it's going to be harder than this season. Stupid talk. I expect exactly the same as this season, flirting with the playoffs.

Disappointing their keeper had a good game but our lack of intensity against a poor side was fustrating, I think we have far too many old legs in the side forget all the over 30 players next season we don’t want them we need energy

What? He was shocking. Offers nothing going forward. Defensively teams put a big lad up against him who he can’t cope with. Looked good early season. Since injury very poor.

A few random thoughts from today.

The good. We only lost by 2.

The bad. In contrast to us: They played with energy. They closed down when we had the ball. The moved the ball forwards quickly. They tackled with enthusiasm. Their big lads used their strength to win most in the air. We didn't do these things. Some of our players looked close to being embarrassing against the pace and energy of theirs today.

and the rest

The time wasting is annoying and needs stopping. However, I'd be interested to know how long we spent passing the ball backwards from our midfield to our back 4 and keeper, and how long we spent passing the ball across the back four. I'd warrant that is a lot longer than they spent time-wasting. I saw Cook encouraging us to move the ball forward. If this is correct, it's taking a very long to get this basic message over to the players.

If today is the beginning of the end of the season, at least the management will have a week or two longer to get a squad together for L2 next season. It's be a decent finish up to today. Like the majority of the sqaud, iut's time to move on to nexty season IMHO.

Too many players who are at the end of their careers or should be hanging up their boots. Like to see some recruitment from League 2 and 1 sides of players under 30 who can improve us. There is decent players in this league who would love to play here! Need to be using the loan market well next year too. Bromley and these have picked up some very good players where apart from Markanday and Metcalfe in spells all of ours have flattered to deceive.

Agreed. He had a stinker and he wasn't on his own either.

From an attacking perspective, he kills us.

I still can't imagine why, with two strikers up front, 0-2 down and only a few minutes left we persisted in passing it round our own half.No sense of urgency, no desire to attack the penalty area, no idea beyond what was failing already. And they weren't that good - the few occasions we attacked with a bit of determination they wobbled and the 'keeper earned his corn.
What also worried me was that the two old hands, Fadz and Fleck, didn't take the game by the scruff of the neck and inject some urgency and attack. Instead it was just the old to-me-to-you stuff, which not only makes it easy for the opposition but fails to stir up the fans to lift things. Cheered up the Walsall lot though.
