It's reported that 2 Reform Durham councillors have been forced to resign as they work for Durham Council. You can't be a councillor and an employee of the council.

It's reported that 1 Reform Newark Councillor has resigned as he didn't realise he had to take up so much of his free time to do a councillor's work.

The Newark one says he’s resigned due to a change in personal circumstances and cite his career in social care as the reason.

Not sure where you’ve read it is because he didn’t realise how much time it’d take up? A change in personal circumstances could mean a plethora of work-related reasons that have arisen.

I’m sure you’ve got a link citing your quoted reason?

Give it another 4 years and you’ll be asking me if they’ve sorted out minister for defence, home secretary etc.

I thought that you might know because I thought that you were a member of Reform, and had an interest in Reform's plans for the County, and who will provide the political leadership and accountability for them. It's a fairly benign question, or so I'd have thought.

If you are a member of Reform in 4 years time and Reform take power at the GE you're correct in presuming that there'll be an interest from myself, and no doubt others, in who Reform will appoint to provide political leadership of the country at that time.

Looks like Alan Graves, ex Mayor of Derby and elected member for Derby City Council was returned as a County Councillor. Given his experience, it may be that he will also have his hat in the ring for the leadership of the Council perhaps.

It will be of some interest to see whether Graves is favoured within the County Reform group as leader with his links to the City and (relatively) southern parts of the County. The media appear to be suggesting that the leader will be announced within the Council papers on Wednesday 14th May.

Reform have announced their manifesto!

Among it is raising threshold for income tax to £20,000 (losing about £60 billion straight away).

The ability to build on green belt land (that’ll go down well when they start building prisons in the Peak District)!

Well I would only stand expecting to win, but I can imagine a few are Reform supporters who stood to give the sitting Tory / labour / whatever councillor a bloody nose, maybe hoping to split the vote so some random got in?

I imagine there were a few new Labour Mps desperately trying to get life organised for their new £90k a year job last June having won unexpectedly. Some might say one was the Labour MP for Bowsa who is pretty invisible...

My 90 year old Mum moved in to the area in 1967. I wrote to her on behalf of my Mum, my 8 year old grandson could have formulated a better reply. Have you looked up her contributions in the House to see what she is up to... not sure she knows her way to London either ;)

Is this before or after she voted to cut financial aid to poor pensioners and the disabled?

Not seen her at all around here when you saw Dennis quite often, when he was in better health. But in fairness I did have a reply on House of Commons paper about a week ago to my email to her berating her and the government, in a polite way over the WFA theft, it seemed like a standard reply anyone who voiced similar concerns would get, but 8 months late is better than nothing I suppose

Has she finished setting up her office?

Compare her efforts in parliament to other newly elected MPs that joined in June....

How many faceless social media accounts based out of the country do you follow that will tell you that is true?

Even if it was a great policy if you earned under that it would soon cost you far more.

While I agree the cut in tax for the lowest paid us a great thing, in also wondering where the shirt fall will be made up

I can only assume that indirect tax such as VAT and then growth from giving people more spending power are the plan
