A wins a win but we will need to play better and attack more ,well chuffed though.

We attacked plenty today. Just couldn’t get the 2nd goal we deserved.

Absolutely love the abuse, bring it on captain , we’re going to Wembley, I will be there with all the other nuthugging non ex footballers like goku, can’t wait to celebrate with them… up the spirieites and up Paul cook massive achievement, from an impossible position, biggest shout is for Ryan Boot and Ash palmer , 2 players absolutely off the radar who have been incredible, well done griggy the fox in the box

I like your style.

Living in Leek, being a hardcore Stoke City town, near my house a party was going on (plus Staffordshire Police were patrolling by).

They were singing "we were staying up". Clearly a survival party. Don't know what they were on. Maybe Sure deodorant- but that's Leek for you.

I couldn't keep my gob shut. Dolled up in my overalls - working on my 1958 Austin A35. Named "Spencer the Spireite". After Dr. W. Elder PhD VD has seen to him, you will see him on the road home and away. Give me a wave when you see him.

My response was "Play offs for Spireites, ole ole ole"...

Had a very loud cheer back rather than a thump....

RESULT. GREAT DAY ALL ROUND.

We’re all town at the end of the day , opinions on here are worth nothing , it’s a football forum we are not debating splitting the atom, I disagree with many on here, I don’t care, I still respect them and applaud them for supporting CFC , this is a team that has nearly got an 8000 a week fanbase , I’m proud of that and days like today when it goes our way against the odds are special.

Wise words. Up the Blues. We can all have a drink tonight and enjoy the season a little longer.

Agree with what you say. 100 per cent.

I shouldn't even support Chesterfield. I'm from Staffordshire. Should really be Stoke or Port Vale.

But every person had their quirks. My parents were market traders and and I have them and the kindness of Rex Hodginson of CBC to allow Holroyd Fabrics to trade to thank to bring me as passionate a Spireite as anyone else on this board. I ended up being a Spireite thanks to John Duncan. My first CFC match was with Ron Jepson (an ex Chesterfield mayor - shout if you've heard of him or if it's bullshit). John Ayres of the fruit stall introduced him.

We've had enough crap to deal with and respond to - which we have dealt with, with aplomb.

This club is going forward... Watch this space.

And I have two sons, their mates and my daughter that are now Spireites. I think I've done a good job as a dad.

Some good posts. Differences of opinion re- tactics, recruitment and the like aside, everyone on this forum is a town fan and wants the side to do well.

We've had terrible luck with injuries this season, but the football Gods have blessed us with the sides competing for the final play off spots making an absolute balls of it. We've finished the season well and I think a Town - County final is the likely outcome now. With us the form team in the knockouts.

ps. Griggs finish was a cracker. Would have been easy to miss the goal with the ball cannoning back at pace.

Was it Ron Jepson of Chesterfield Tube Company?

We met a PNE fan who had come to the game to see her hero score for us today, she was delighted at the end.

Ron Jepson was indeed the ex mayor of Chesterfield and resided on Hunloke Avenue, a few houses up from Boythorpe Rd. A really nice bloke, unlike Sargent Jepson who didn't have a father on his birth certificate, and certainly wasn't nice at all, in fact he made The Witch finder General look a right whimp.
