Indeed. Things can always get considerably worse!

Are you referring to reform or events since the last general election ;)

Our mainstream parties INCLUDING Reform offer no solutions to our real systemic problems because they are wedded to this system. They serve the interests that are causing our decline.

What are the real systemic problems and the potential solutions in your view? I agree that tinkering round the edges will make no difference and we need significant change in how the country operates...

Whist people rightly mock Trump, we have to hope that the clever people that have actually introduced his new ideas are going to cause mayhem in our 'completely broken' system and the knock on effect will force in new thinkers.

Our current lot can't manage any problem in any sector. Time for change.

Farage will feed off USA leads.
Border Control.
DOGE.
Health insurance.
NATO realignment.
Tax relief for folk buying important merchandise........
and more to come.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Where did he say they couldn't vote for who they liked? The people of this country have yet again shown their unerring ability to vote for those they like ie spivs, hatemongers & charlatans. Why change the habit of decades?

I think you are entirely missing the point of what is going on. This isn't about a political party or who will do well or not, running a council, it's about the frustrations people (not all, obviously) are feeling about our country. They are willing to risk voting for Reform, in the hope some sanity prevails and a semblance of what once was, is restored.

Most people are proud of this country, it's history, it's culture; they don't want to see it purposefully and wilfully eroded and derided. This is a proud, island nation; the people are patriotic to the core and love their country. They want to be treated fairly and with respect, not binned off to the bottom of the pile, for the sake of 'diversity'.

Some people want their kids to be taught rewritten (lies) history, that suits a left-wing agenda - most people don't.

Some people love DEI and the nonsense bias agenda that punishes the native white population - most people don't.

Some people love pro Palestinian, pro Hammas, pro Hezbollah, antisemitic, flag waving, nutjobs, bringing our streets to a standstill every weekend - most people don't.

Some people want open borders and the demographic to change - most people don't.

Some people want the Pakistani Muslim rape gangs issue to be swept under the carpet - most people don't.

Some people want men dressed as women to use female changing facilities and to compete against biological women in sports - most people don't.

Some people are happy for their taxes to used to house illegal immigrants and be given priority over the indigenous population - most people aren't.

Some people, in a majority Christian country, are happy for the ideology of Islam to infiltrate every level of society and dictate policies, such as - 'right-wing extremist narrative' in reference to the Pakistani Muslim rape gangs - most people aren't.

Some people are happy for Islamic terrorism to be swept under the carpet, despite it being responsible for 94% of all deaths from terrorism in this country since 1999; an issue we never had or wanted. They are quite happy for a completely fabricated, right-wing terrorism narrative to be created, in order to aid this deflection - most people aren't.

Some people are happy with two tier policing and justice; like watching the police telling Muslim lads to to take their machetes, knives and hammers back to the mosque, while indigenous white folk are imprisoned for writing something on Facebook- most people aren't.

Talk to anyone out of your echo chamber circle; working class folk, and these are the things they will tell you....if they feel safe that they can.

It would appear that the threat to Christianity isn't other religions but thankfully no religion .

In England, the 2021 census showed that Christianity is the largest religion, with 46.2% of the population identifying as Christian. Following Christianity is no religion, with 37.2% of the population. Islam is the third largest religion, with 6.5% of the population identifying as Muslim. Other religions include Hinduism (1.7%), Sikhism (0.9%), Buddhism (0.5%), Judaism (0.5%), and a small percentage identifying as "Other religion".

You don't hope for sanity by voting for insanity. The rest of your post shows you are way way down the rabbit hole & probably unsalvagable.

file:///C:/Users/User/Downloads/report_extreme_right_wing_terrorism_in_the_uk_22-052-01-1.pdf A report on UK Far Right Terrorism for you, just so we agree it isn't made up.

Serious question - if his point about “most people don’t” is wrong, then why did reform win the most seats in the local elections, win the popular vote in the local elections, win 2 of the mayoral contests, and overturn a 14,000 majority in labours 49th safest seats?

Surely 40% of the population are not “far right terrorists”?

Why you even posted that I don’t know but I’m genuinely interested on why you think the vote went the way it did
A new hope.

No, one of the reasons the Tories have lost a lot of seats, apart from being a disaster, is that they were defending a very high number of seats yesterday after doing very very well in these same elections in 2021, two years after Boris’ large 2019 election win.

Yes, that. It's also true that new governments tend to do badly in the first few years after they've been elected. The usual approach being to make the unpopular decisions early on and then to sweeten things in the year before the GE. Labour certainly hasn't bucked the first part of that trend! In fact they seem to have taken it to another level altogether.

Political leadership wise, Starmer / (pretty much everything) makes Corbyn / Brexit look like a minor error.

I think that anyone newly taking up the political leadership of a Council has a very tough job on their hands. The likelihood of being at odds with central government won't help them either.

Derbyshire DOGE (Why on earth did they opt to borrow that?) could be interesting perhaps.
