Bookies making Reform 1/4 and Labour 11/4 to win the Runcorn and Helsby by election whereas the polls gave it neck and neck with the latest having Reform leading by just 0.5 of a point.
To say Labour are defending a majority of over 14,000 and it’s one of their safest seats if Reform get within a thousand or so votes it would be a fantastic achievement but I’d admit to being a tad disappointed if it’s not won. Now that would set the cat amongst the pigeons.

I suppose reform is ok if you are prepared for an insurance based health service.

Just shy of another 300 landed on our shores yesterday . They’ll be seen by NHS staff sooner than you or I would get a routine appointment. It’s a disgrace. Nigel is right it needs to be declared a National emergency.

works pretty successfully in most of the world including those held out as the ones to aspire to - state funding for those who cant afford anything else, insurance funding for those who can afford it. Better care for everyone if done correctly. And given Kier likes a two tier you'd be surprised he isnt plugging it ;)

Giving increasing life expectancy and ever more expensive treatments available, something has to be done to get better value for our health spending or youngsters like Goku will end up with a basic rate income tax that is effectively 40% to pay for that and gold plated public sector pensions...

Or you can just bury your heads, say tax the rich until they all leave and then wonder why the country is on its @rse.

Doing nothing is not an option.

Many countries who use an insurance based system still spend more gdp on thier health systems than the UK. America spends 16%. way more than we do. In your world those who can't afford insurance be treated the same as those who can.

And there it is.

Right there.

Reform in a nutshell.

Faced with a direct reference to their plans for a private insurance based NHS deflect to migrants.

And can you provide an iota of proof to confirm your "they'll be seen by NHS staff sooner than you or I would get a routine appointment" claim?

Please, just one link.

Then can you answer the prompts earlier in the thread to spell out Reform policy on pensions? The WASPI women? Public spending and social infrastructure? Taxation?

Again, just a few simple sentences.

But based on facts rather than hollow slogans this time...

You think they wait four weeks to be health screened. Really? Give over
Wait at least 4 weeks for a routine appointment at our surgery. 100% fact. Illegal migrants health screened at the hotels by on site medical staff who visit on a regular basis.
And if it is the main policy then it’s a policy that concerns millions of folk. It’s a shame you don’t dissect Labours record and policies of this treacherous government other than the “ I’ve distanced myself from Starmer” platitude. Mind you I don’t blame you for avoiding it like the plague when you still pop your head on here and the Trump thread ti give us the benefit of your view from time to time.

So that's another 'No', then.

You can't provide an iota of credible evidence to support your claim.

And you've yet again resorted to evasion and whataboutery rather than tell us why 'Britain needs Reform'.

Look, it really isn't difficult - as a bloke who's boasted Reform membership and venerated it's leader please offer a few sentences detailing it's policies.

Just without mentioning the word 'migrant'.

I see you've repeated the "treacherous" term, too.

Despite your own leader's praise for Putin, appearances on his propaganda platform - for which he presumably recieved Kremlin coin - and secret meetings with the Russian Ambassador.

Which "many millions" will deem treacherous.

Yet perfectly okay with you.

Blimey - next you'll be hysterically calling folk 'liars' whilst insisting the Boris Johnson who's name is synonymous with corruption was some sort of victim!

Oh, wait...

Oh, wait...

You really can’t see the wood for the trees can you. Thankfully the majority of British voters are waking up to the treacherous government and policies. Illegal immigrants wait over 4 weeks to be medically screened, yes of course they do, forgive me I think my sides have split.
My views on Farage and Boris are well documented, no need to keep relaying them.
Starmer is a traitor to the electorate who voted for him, thankfully the public and falling for the diversionary tactics you keep employing by avoiding the Labour thread. Of course post where you like but it is a tad obvious. Two tier posting at its finest,

Oh, wait...

Just for clarification, do I see Farage as a treacherous C... No
Do I see Boris as a treacherous C… No
Do I see Starmer as a treacherous C…. Yes, I like an ever growing group of millions of Brits can’t abide the C…
Do I venerate Farage as leader. Yes. I’ve certainly feel no need to distance myself from my party leader.
Hope that clears it all up.

Not sure of the policies yet, I put what was on the leaflet further up the thread, not very fulsome as yet but I’m sure as we get towards the next elections. Boasted Reform membership?. At least we’ve not got the hollow slogan of smashing the gangs, which is working well, isn’t it? Treachery to the British people. I’m pleased I’ve joined but not sure I’ve boasted, but if it comes across as that then so be it. You regularly spoke of being a Labour Party member yet when somebody else mentions a party membership they’re boasting..quality!
Well see tomorrow what millions of British voters think, I’d imagine there might be a few more “distancing themselves from Starmer”, don’t you?

Yep in the same way those who cant afford private schools are treated the same. Does money buy better, of course it always will. But as I believe that we should encourage aspiration and not bring everyone down to the lowest common denominator, then there has to be some benefit to having money.

When you say the US spends 16% of GDP on health systems, do you include in that the personal contributions of those that can choose to pay more if they want, or just govt spending? If the former, maybe it answers your question. If the latter, well it perhaps outlines the issues in the US....

Does the UK measure just include spending on the NHS or all the amounts spent on private health insurance too, where we effectively pay twice?

Oh, wait...

It’s astounding that you’ve got the audacity to call someone evasive after doing a Lord Lucan on the personal section which you previously had taken residency upon.

Pre-Labour government fiasco.

And I’ll think you’ll find the word migrant you request/demand Merc omit from his support of Reform’s policies is the one word that is making Reform such a huge threat to the shambles that are both labour and the Tories.

Folk have had enough of the daily migrant invasion which is only gathering further pace under our shambolic shower of a government and Reform will hammer that til the cows come home.

Nothing else matters, as beautifully lyricised by James Hetfield.

I think it’s fair to say if Reform hit big, labour will claim it’s only local election and doesn’t mean much.

If labour fare better than expected, Reform will claim its only local election and doesn’t mean much.

But I think we’ll get a fair idea what’s happening.
