Going down it seems due to an admin error. 3 point deduction. Fan vote to see if they go private with investment. Money man is unofficially David Hilton who caused all matter of issues at Scunthorpe. Post prison term for fraud.

They’ve got a handful of players on contracts for next season as well which won’t help. Could sadly be the end if they don’t properly navigate these next few months.

Might sound daft but if as looks likely Matlock are relegated would their level be deemed to low to play a PSF? Hope not

Amount of players they’ve used this season not surprised something like this has happened!

57 players made at least one appearance for them.

1200+ there yesterday and 4th highest average in league of 870 + those full house friendlies.

Shameful really but if they don't do an Ilkeston and go pop, they'll probably still get good crowds next season as they never dipped thought out the season.

What a calamity. I do hope they're still in existence for next season. Very friendly club and a real pity that this has happened. It may be down to one man's error but I don't think I would have broadcast it on the club's website as such.

Sounds like the person in question was happy to acknowledge their error and issue the public apology for making it.

Their honesty isn't in any doubt, but for me, the club takes it as an entity. You know what morons are like on social media.

Probably hard to keep up with who his registered and who isn't the way they have behaved.

I'm sure his blushes will be saved as they are already 5 points behind with playoff chasing I'son to play tomorrow in the penultimate match.

They want to be careful of what their money man’s intentions might be, can’t see it ending well

Ian richardson warned what would happen at the beginning of the season.

Nicky Law cocked it up big time, booting out all but three of the previous year's players (because he hadn't seen them play) and signing players from the division below and the one below that. I would be surprised if any of his signings were there by November. I also don't think the 'mystery money' man was there the time.

One good thing is that Matlock don't own the ground, so that goes some way to mitigates against a dubious owner

Nicky Law and dubious owners, where have I heard that before ?
Very good point re the ground, that could be very fortunate in the long term.

Who’d have thought that getting involved with their rumoured backer would end badly?

There’s apparently a vote coming up as to whether to remain a fan-owned club or, as their website leadingly puts it, “changeover to the private ownership model providing investment.” Sounds like a vote between having a club or inviting a fraudster through the front door.
These go to eleven.

Sounds like they might be about to vote for their own destruction.

I was under the impression they had already agreed the ownership model back before Christmas without knowing the owner (officially). Seems daft to have another one after he has allegedly pushed a great deal of money the clubs way. Don't see much good coming out of voting against the model now as that will come at a price if he has put real money into the club.

I don’t the Kirk brothers are crooks nor idiots. Admittedly we were run by a crook and an idiot but it’s not continuous. Unless you know something I don’t.
