Hope I’m wrong but I sense fun and games on Monday as like Hull (who we haven’t played that frequently) Bradford often seem to cause trouble. Remember the big punch up with stewards at the front of the north stand. Was that the last time they came in the league?
.Also going back many years - must have been between 70.- 72 as my dad stopped going in 70 and I was standing with a mate on the kop, we were about 12 or 13 and were surprised to see loads of Bradford fans on the kop. Suddenly even more town fans appeared and chased them right round to Cross Street, some of them brandishing Bradford scarves like captured flags as they returne.I thought the barriers on Compton Street were there by the early 70’s but at that game you could freely move around all three terraces. I was disturbed to see a Bradford lad actually with his parents standing near me crying and holding his neck, obviously hurt in the melee.
I expect they could have sold more than three times their allocation as not only are they riding high but are far and away the best supported club in the division. Wonder if many will come without tickets?

Highly likely there’ll be some in the home ends. Keep quiet and they’ll be fine, make @rses of themselves and hopefully they’ll get what they deserve.

Newport V Walsall 12.30 ko. Newport's form LLDLLD. Walsall's form DDDLLD.

They'll be viewing a result on Monday as a Promotion Party. Could be some fun and games.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

A nasty self entitled bunch there are. Caused trouble the season we went down under Caldwell, and the season before that under Wilson.

Think the only time they haven’t caused trouble is the day we sent them down at Saltergate 3-0 home win last game on season.

They're no different to the fan-base of any other traditional club from a working class town (us included).

Do you know the year? I’d estimate 70 or 71 as prior to 1970 I used to sit in the stand with my old man..The barrier on Compton Street must have been put in a little after that. I remember one game against Notts Co fans walking past each other on Compton St as we swapped ends at HT, other than banter no trouble as I recall.
Talk about a different world.

Only FA Cup game in the 70's was 1975/76 season lost away 1-0, the 1970 game at home was in the League Cup where according to Soccerbase we played both home and away on the same day (the Spireite's bible by Stuart Basson has it on the 20th of August with the away leg the week before on the 13th)

Those were the days and as you commented,a totally different world.Hopefully all will end well with Grigg scoring six of the eight goals we put past them in the first thirty minutes.
