You obviously know the business better than anyone on here so will no doubt correct me if this doesn’t sound right but I was at a meeting with a client of mine last week and they are in the industrial laundry business, serving many big independents as well as hotel chains.
He tells me a customer of his with a 90 room hotel in Lancashire is paid £145 per night per room by the Government to take the whole hotel for asylum seekers. They get the price per room whether every room is occupied or not. This has to be the agreement as the hotel is shut to the general public.
So 400k a month. Obviously no idea what profit level is on that, but I imagine it’s quite tidy. Nice work if you can get it.
I imagine at that price they are providing food, welfare and security - which doesn't come cheap given the interest in the properties. Probably 2 or 3 to a room,4 x security 24x7, and costs of maintenance and repairs, as well as the staff to manage 200 people.
And completely screwed by the insurers who assume these guests will cook on open flames every day and burn the place down..
At 90 rooms, with all those costs, might make a million a year less rent... so possibly half a million?
As I say all depends on the deal and property costs. Not all hotels make a profit in normal trade, funnily enough...

Have you proof of that or just casting g aspersions. If proof, contact police as they generally jump quicker for these people than other known criminals in my experience..
If no proof, shut up and stop being racist.
