Neither of those people are in the Labour Party - Whelan has sway over some aspects of Labour policy, yes, which he should as the head of a major union. Jones is a journalist, and whilst I don’t know his exact politics, he’s clearly not “far-left”. I’m guessing some sort of democratic socialist.

I didn’t say Jones was far left

I’d suggest you read the post again. It really isn’t difficult to understand.

You’re suggesting that there are many in the Labour Party leadership that are like Owen Jones? And I would say, seeing as he left the party I would guess you’re wrong. Regardless even if true, neither he nor (by extension) Labour leadership would be “far-left”, which was the original point I was contending.

Who exactly running Labour is “far-left”, I need a single name?

Out of the entire essence of my post, that's your focus?

However, I'll rephrase; my use of 'running' was incorrect.

Those that 'predominate' are progressive liberals and, to a 'lesser' extent, the far-left. The party is 'made up' of globalist, progressive middle-class liberals and radical activists.

I focussed on the part that was objectively untrue yes. Some of the rest of it is subjectively incorrect IMO but those are just opinions. Your reworded paragraph is probably correct.

Jesus Christ on a bike.

1) Just because Owen left the party doesn’t mean there aren’t those with a similar view in the party.

2) I said Owen WASN’T far left. You’re agreeing that he isn’t far left too- but saying I’m wrong because I said he isn’t?

3) You didnt ask for the leaders who were far left, you asked for the name of a member. I said there aren’t many who are far left in the traditional sense. But now your narrowing it to peruse a non argument. A total non argument you’re only having with yourself.

Talk about pedantry.

So a page of you arguing when it’s really petty semantics, and the core point is you agreed with his post in the main.

Thanks for that valuable contribution, really added substance to the debate.

I’m not agreeing with the post in the main merely that paragraph, bar “far-left”. And that does matter when you’re just throwing words around willy nilly - the “far-left” aren’t involved in the current Labour project, but they have, and will continue, to be blamed for its many many shortcomings.

You asked for a name out of those “running” the Labour Party - which includes the NEC who have huge influence on policy direction at congress.

I gave you a name, so you then changed it to leadership

Arguing for the sake of it.

I think it’s commonplace to chuck words around willy-nilly. It’s happening every day before our eyes.

You say it’s calling folk far-left to suit.

Many would say it’s calling folk racist to suit.

Words chucked about willy-nilly ( are we still ok to say this? ) every day.

I see we won another local election on Thursday polling 46% of the vote from a non start at the previous vote. Labours vote self destructed.
May the 1st is going to be interesting.
East stand second class citizen.

A drop of close to 30% in the labour vote and close to 10% for the Tory vote.

Gone to pay for me now sorry.
Basically a poll in specific red wall seats, that Labour would expect to win comfortably, for the upcoming May elections showing reform on 30% and Labour 26%
