A massive thank you for this investment. I sleep soundly at night knowing these top fellas are running my football club. Hats off

Seconded. What a difference to what we had before, and I don't mean just before, I mean those who nearly let the club fold.

Sign of good times that all the chat is about the next game and not the ownership of the club!

Assuming there’ll be some of that earmarked for recruitment, who would be top of everyone’s list? Markanday for me, let’s get him back.

Writing the debt off probably ?
Magnificent gesture and it looks like Ashley has no self control- splashing the ‘silly money’ lol.
Is thankyou enough.

Maybe we could collectively do something to show our appreciation? Especially with the health situation.
Any ideas ?

Though it is a natural thing for us to want to show our sincere gratitude I would suggest that the only thing Phil wants at the moment is something we cannot provide, unfortunately. He has given us lots of good news since getting involved, let's hope he gets some of his own.

This appreciation for the Kirk brothers could have been Allen's for the taking, but then again,he wasn't a fan, was he?
I wish all the best for Phil going forward but we need to let him have his wish, so let's appreciate what he's done, but leave him to his privacy.

Similar with our accounts.
The £5M share is kinda good news and bad news. Fantastic and generous deed by the Kirks. Bad news is that we need £5M to maintain and improve our league position over the next few seasons- hardly self sufficient and sustainable.

Looking at the examples quoted above re other teams of a similar level, or level we’d want to be at, that seems to be the MO. Even just to tread water you’re looking at a loss. It seems that nowadays record breaking gates are simply not enough. I’d even go as far as to say even a good cup run or a cpl of good player sales will no longer lead to the plimsol line.
The thing in our favour is the Kirk’s are fans, good and true

It feels almost disrespectful to say the next bit out loud but, given our current financial results, £5m is probably enough to cover around 2 seasons worth of losses. What I'm looking forward to hearing is the long term plan - either to make the club break-even / self-sustainable or whatever other alternatives are being discussed in the board room. Was this mentioned in the AGM?
