If we can unload. Madden it's not worked out then could we get mullin and Palmer from Wrexham what a partnership that would be ,of course could we afford both, guaranteed goals between them ,just an idea,?

We don’t play 2 up top though, very unlikely and not what we need as Mullin can’t play as a loan forward

There’s nothing to discuss. Madden is under contract. We don’t play two up front. We probably can’t afford either, never mind both.

You have to take into consideration the style of football we play. Two up front isn’t what we do. Say we do as you suggest, does that mean Grigg is pushed to the bench along with Dobra or Banks or Mandeville? If Madden goes we will need to bring in another striker, I would prefer that to be Pepple or another young’un.

I don’t think you’ve thought it through properly.

You’ve been criticising giving contracts to likes of Fleck then want to get in 33yr old palmer and 30yr old mullin who will both be on big wages.

I get what he is saying that Madden has been a disappointment and yes would swap him for Pepple but doubt we would pay him off to do it.

ROFL...brilliant

Anyone would think we are team that struggles to score goals with some of the suggestions that spring up on here...FFS LOL

Let's just leave that decision making to those that are experts in their field - We have a superb quality manager that knows how to build a team

Not a chance we could afford either of them.

I am not even sure we want one of them nevermind both.

We have two veteran strikers already so, personally, I think we should be looking at a couple of younger strikers to develop with one of them being U21 so as to not have to be added into the squad of number of 22.

I wouldn't want either Dave , both over 30 and don't think either would suit our system. I'd sooner sign Pepple up if we could get him in the summer , he's young and hungry and has potential.

Certainly need a different type of striker at home, huge amount of possession in opponents half against teams who get compact makes it very difficult to pinpoint crosses, pepple has done well but still have slight nagging doubts about whether he is the right fit, Grigg was scoring before injury but 8 league goals , 6 were away that could lead you to think that it’s tough being the lone man at home and he prefers a bit more space away, I’d much prefer a bigger target man , would not stop us playing football but would help in other areas, saying that not seen anybody that fits the bill and age has to be a factor

I'd be more interested in putting money in to sign the likes of Markanday.
Is Grigg still in contract?

I don't think it would happen as he will probably want League 1 football at a minimum but if there was any remote chance of signing Markanday then he would be right at the top of my wish list.

I think we can spend our money more wisely.

After Tuesday my preference has switched to Michael O. Imo all he's lacking is a great manager to bring him on, and we have one. Wor I saw was raw power, strength, vision, lightning acceleration. Wor I heard after was intelligent, articulate.

He's got to work incessantly now on his finishing. Also, he's a big lad and he can help out with defensive set pieces.

I've bored everybody before on how every manager with a loanee has an enlightenment period with a player when he knows before anybody else about potential. We are in that period with Michael. In my personal opinion, and bearing in mind we've got Mandeville, I'd rather invest in Michael.

Markanday doesn’t appear to be cutting it at L1 level with Orient.

Did he just hit a purple patch with us is the question.

Having said that, he did find the back of the net with a regularity and we did seem to miss him after he moved on even though he seemed to displace Mandeville. Also, his inclusion did lead to the average size of the team being on the small side.

Must admit I like the young lad Olakigbe who, at his tender age, should only get better. Also, since Markanday’s departure we have signed Duffy.

If the cost is right I am not against re-signing Markanday but I do think there are more important positions in the starting eleven to address.
