My favourite was Marcus Ebdon a quality player

I used to like watching George Smith, withered arm and all.

Danny wilson, samy morsy.. both way above the level we were at, and both went onto fulfill their potential
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Robinson and Ebdon were very good indeed but Danny Wilson was the best midfielder I have seen for us. Also Tom Fenoughty although I was only a kid when I watched him so can’t really remember him that well even though I must have seen him a lot.

Danny Wilson for me too. He had everything including a fantastic work ethic. Billy Mercer, Bill Green, Danny Wilson and Jack Lester my favourite ever Town players.

What a spine of a team that would make these days.

Just 50 years ago that he was a major part of the Matlock side that won the Trophy at Wembley. Great day, great player. And then they went and hammered Mansfield at Field Mill in the cup the following season.

I am sure I have seen that there is a reunion for that Matlock Team from 1975 on April 26th at Matlock Town - Perhaps someone could confirm and post some details?
We are all town aren't we ..................

I'd say last night's performance in terms of passing, reading the game, awarenes etc was the best midfield display I've seen for decades - better than Morsey if you don't include the tenacious side
Kevin Arnott was quality too and Mick Henderson

In the 1984-5 championship winning team we had ex Yoonited player John Mathews, he was a brilliant midfielder.

Hoare (400)

He was superb.
Also, forgetting his management short comings, Lee Richardson was a tidy player.

I thought Richardson was a real disappointment given his pedigree. Rarely seemed to impact matches within the great side we had at that time. I met some Aberdeen fans who had really loved him, mind.
These go to eleven.

If Fleck can play in the run in it’s huge

It’s like having two players

Having someone of his quality in midfield who can dictate and orchestrate our attacks cannot be underestimated.

His little dink to Banks in the build up to our first goal was a thing of beauty.

Couldn't agree more. If Fleck can play most of the game in the remaining games it bodes very well. If Michael can keep playing like he did on Tuesday it will make a big difference. We have Grigg back which is huge. McF could return and be a real force. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Must keep it up at Tranmere

Standing on the kop at Saltergate and watching Danny Wilson arrive is still very vivid. His drive and strength going forward stuck with me for a long time. Tippy tappy football wasn't an option for Danny. He made a big impact, just like Ryan and Morsy.
