must be very difficult for fans of carlisle, dropping to national league once is bad enough but knowing you are returning to that again and how difficult in reality it is, well it's a feeling i hope we never have again.

Carlisle will really struggle in the NL. Lots of players on big contracts and I don’t think Hughes will understand the level. Can see them staying there for a long time like we did. Feel for their fans. Would much rather Morecambe and Harrogate went down.

Anything similar of the Banks incident that Hughes referenced?

That defeat at Grimsby....

thanks i am trying to erase that from my memory lol

a team that had not won for 20 odd matches and we never went to have a real go at them imo

I think the following week barnet under Martin Allen went to Grimsby and won 3-1

that says it all really about our inept performance the week before

Not seen anything. I presume he is referring to the incident just before half time near the edge of their box west stand side when they both ended up on the floor and then their lad ended up going off. I assumed they'd just run into each other. Surprised he hasnt mentioned a possible incident with Metcalfe in the second half, one of their lads took him out off the ball and Metcalfe had a swipe at him with his arm that fortunately didnt really make contact. Think it what possibly led to the tackle more East Stand side where the lad got booked for wiping Metcalfe out with a horrible lunge that could easily have been red as well.

Their geographical position doesn't really help them either as regards recruiting players, that makes their task even harder.

I’ve said it before and will say it again. Oldaker has clear failings but he plays to instructions. PC was ranting at misses up front but was not jumping up and down when we were all suffering from his tactic of substitutions followed by slowing the game down in our own half. It’s there that mistakes cost. Enough said.

Oldaker plays that way throughout the game, not just to count the clock down when we're winning, he does the same thing when we're losing with ten minutes to go.

Playing struggling sides elicits a pressure of it's own.

Especially one's down to ten.

So our ever lengthening catalogue of near misses created an ever growing frustration.

But on reflection we did what we had the do.

Less heroism from their 'keeper and more composure on our part it could've been another five.

Or more.

Don't blame Cook for the sub's but if - IF - he instructed game nullifying possession over going for the throat he was wrong.

Guessing Tranny will be another attritional arm wrestle.

It's all about the three points, though...

Didnt stop them signing 11 or 12 players in the January transfer window! A website that lets you see wage bills etc has them paying £5,419,000 in wages this season which is a £1m more than us!

Hotel California

A dystopian bad dream full of dark arts, shithousery, direct physical teams who put strangleholds on games, good players, bad refs, teams which can play a bit, tiny away followings etc etc.
A terrible experience, truly terrible.

Palmer has been virtually flawless since his return, never thought I would be saying that, Grimes tends to give something away most matches unfortunately.

Does Palmer look much leaner and more agile than he did before?
These go to eleven.

Yes I always say the best way to defend is attack. It's mind boggling if PC told his subs to faff around in our box to run the clock down. It's asking for trouble

It's all about the three points, though...

Enjoyable game and a decent ref.

Thought their keeper was excellent, maybe worth a look in the close season?

.

Breeze has already been attracting interest from higher leagues, I heard before last night. A recent wonder save v Colchester went viral.
These go to eleven.

I’ll be honest I felt a bit sorry for Carlisle last night. Literally everything went wrong for them. Typical of a side in free fall and heading to the national league. We were very much the same when in that position.

I still remember the awful feeling of knowing we were actually going down into non league and knowing it would be a long fight back for league status.

Every Carlisle fan feels like that this morning

Said the same at the match last nite, they reminded me of us, as we descended into the pit of misery.
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Thought Michael O had a good game too. Tricky feet and fast with it, would be good if we could get him for next season.
