I wonder how ballsy Cook would be to bring in McFaz/Harvey into that left hand side.
Good win but I would imagine tomorrows training includes some finishing drills!

The subs put us into reverse and under pressure - why the F play it around the back with Carlisle pressing. We are an accident waiting to happen when we try killing time passing around our area.
We were massively on the front foot and by bringing on Oldaker has killed momentum and hardly passed to Coclough.
The gift from Grimes I don't totally blame him for, as the rest of midfield and defence were in the mindset of running down the clock down in the wrong area of the pitch.
So infuriating!!!

But we won, got three points and are 1 point off 7th with a game in hand.
Our form is good, we have a bit of momentum.
We could be that side that has momentum, gate crashes the play offs and goes up

Agree with all that. The intercepted pass was an accident waiting to happen.
I dont think Colclough was given one pass in their half.
Nothing wrong until we scored the second

Battered them and should have won 5 or 6 nil, were by far the better team even before the sending off (which looked a nasty tackle)
Fleck is a very good footballer and hopefully making those who criticised him eat their words a little bit, worth a contract for next year in my opinion

Metcalf never stopped - chasing, competing and looking for the positive option.
Fleck doesn't have his legs, but again always passed purposefully.
Albeit against an all but relegated side with no real ambition.
A word of caution about Palmer, though. He's been steady, a true professional, yet lacks any kind of pace. Which'll be exploited by better outfits. Stockport released him for a reason...

However, it is impossible not to comment on how awful that last 10 mins were. Colclough, Jacob’s and Oldaker in particular trotted on, trotted around. I’ve stuck up for Oldaker a fair few times but that ten mins was absolutely appalling. As for grimes…..he can’t help give a goal away.

Think Grimes head would have been puddled- he had to deal with more passes in the last 10 minutes than some received in 90.

Metcalfe took 2 corners and both were absolutely on the money and caused a panic in their area - but that was that. To be fair they were so bad at defending short corners that it was the obvious tactic second half, but I hope in future it'll be Metcalfe taking them. Even Mandy's started putting some poor ones in.
I hope we've seen the last of Oldacre. With Fleck, Metcalfe, Naylor and Banks all playing well we've moved well beyond the days when we have to watch that negative stuff all game. Had his moments in the National League but this ones well beyond him. Grimes's error was downright stupid, but Oldaker shouldn't have been asking for the ball with their forward lurking.

Aside from that a ridiculously one sided game as the stats show. They were just trying to stay in to try and get something courtesy of the black mark on our performance ended up giving them just it was 2-0 by then already.
Fleck showed why cook wanted him in, Metcalfe was impressive again, olakigbe was really good stretching play on the left second half to the point even with 10 men they were doubling up on him. Thought we defended well bar the blip at the end. It always had the feeling of getting that first goal and we would be fine. As often happens the subs sort of broke things up as the game wore on.

Nice to get some luck in one area at least
What is lucky about a player getting sent off for a really dirty foul?
On the other hand our penalty count this season adds up to the princely total of one, I believe. There was a good shout for one tonight for the foul on Grigg and then a further shout for a lunge on Olakigbe. Meanwhile Tshimanga scores 2 penalties in 5 minutes for Swindon.

Anyway Fleck brilliant, Olakigbe bright, Mandy hero. Onto Tranmere, can’t wait.
