I'd keep Palmer over Grimes but if we want to progress on the pitch, neither should be part of the squad next season.

As I said.

Pace of the game has gone into reverse with the Oldaker and fleck swap. As we have said most of the season. Forward momentum gone with that change, the lad for all his quality with the ball at his feet, but jeez he needs to play with some purpose

Was that down to cooks instruction or his style of play?

And that slowing it down and playing in our half for no reason exposes the weaknesses of head it kick CB
A new hope.

We have changed massively for the worse since Oldaker came on.

Oldaker is just not good enough, he trots around the place, passing it sideways and backwards.

Ridiculous that we ended up hanging on. I can't get my head around how you can play that pass like that (and make the same mistake over and over)

That was purely embarrassing after Oldaker came on…just went to fannying around with it at the back and Grimes does what Grimes always does 🤦🏼‍♂️

Excellent win, keeps the momentum up, though if Macfadzean is fit he plays Saturday!

Up to 10th and 4 points off the play-offs with a game in hand.

Pretty obvious it was instructed, as all players wanted to pass it back and forth at the back.

How good would grimes be with two of his heads as his feet, Jesus he’s so bad with the ball at them, he’s got to go

MOM got to be Mandy. He is easily a league 1 player. Rarely makes a misplaced pass and likes a tackle plus he knows where the net is

Obviously Grimes is to blame for their goal, but the whole pedestrian aspect to our play and the passing around in our own half only started when Oldaker came on.

We’re playing bottom of the league, they have 10 men, and we’ve had 38 shots to their 2 whilst being 2-0 up.
So let’s spend the last 10 mins in our own half passing across the back 5. 🙄

Olakigbe was immense btw, as were Fleck, Mandeville and Dobra. They wanted to attack!

The amount of times Grimes passes the ball to the opposition is remarkable, buzzing we’ve won.

Summary of that for me goes as follows.

Fleck is a touch of class and if he stays fit he should be a stalwart in the middle.
Banks is a joy to watch in that number 10 role.
Olakigbe looks so sharp and threatening.
Metcalfe very good again.
Mandy Mr. Dependable.
Palmer deserves another year.
Grimes is a liability (as if we didn't know).
Oldaker is complete trash. Prances about like a ponce, just slows us down and puts us under pressure with limp sideways and backwards passes.

That whole 100% short corner business in the second half was interesting. I don't think I've ever seen us do that before

I like DJ but I’m finding it difficult to defend that cameo. I never want to accuse a player of not trying but I struggle to remember a player looking less arsed. His body language stunk.

I usually don’t like it, never works but against these tonight they had no fight.. never seen a team easily let us take short corners I think they let us take 8 short ones in a row.. insane.

MOTM Metcalf.

Fleck a class above.

Olakigbe bright but took too many touches too many.

But the whole lot can be accused of that.

Mandy once again Mr Reliable.

Mention for Gordon.

Grimes gives away another (offered a gift we got away with first half anawl).

Oldaker showed why there'll be no tears when he leaves.

Never take three points for granted but blimey - that was like pulling teeth...
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

Rarely do you see such a one-sided match. We thoroughly deserved the win against doomed and demoralised opposition.
Just seen their goal- what a gift. Languid fancying about from Oldaker and Grimes.
Ah well. Madden’s goal the eventual winner. Olakigbe MOM for me (does that have to be POM now?).
These go to eleven.

By playing so slowly and deeply your then asking your CB to almost play as a sweeper or deep CM and be a ball player. Fine if you have Sam Hird but we don’t we have Grimes and he’s just not that player.

He’s good at what he does, bog standard no nonsense defending. Play deep without any pace or forward momentum you’re asking him to be a ball playing sweeper and that isn’t what he is.

Mistake by Cook to do this
A new hope.
