Time to get back in your ageist hole. You really are a nasty callous individual. Just hope one day you'll feel the pain of being cold.

I think I'll continue posting while having my predictions being proven right if that's alright with you Carlsberg.

(Ageist for supporting the removal of a benefit which wasn’t means-tested resulting in tonnes of pensioners receiving unnecessary financial support when they are the wealthiest cohort in the UK and for not supporting a completely unsustainable triple lock - got it 😉)

Trying to be funnily doesn't suit you either. Go back to moaning about Trump bullying the world and imposing unnecessary costs whilst supporting unions that do just that...

Wembley is pretty coloured by the way, but I wasn't surprised as I had been there before. Surprise generally comes from things you don't expect, like a balanced response from unbalanced posters...

Why would
Someone be surprised to see how white a place is when over 82 % of the population is white

You’d have to be a complete donut or totally and completely ignorant.
A new hope.

Last time I looked on this tread in Jan/Feb it was all about Muslim rape gangs (not that the there was 3 or 4 other threads covering the subject), now it is about how white/not white some areas of the country are. At least we are gravitating now towards mobility scooters with the obvious connotations that brings to the table.

It’s about how someone is surprised to see a town in Britain where the majority is white, and how nonsensical that it

I thought the same. I’m surrounded by wealthy, older folk and this will have prejudiced my opinion.

Some quick Googling throws up from Ageing Better some interesting points.

There is a “ rebuttal of the “wealthy baby boomer” narratives that have become so commonplace in public discourse, fueling intergenerational conflict and resentment towards our older population.

Although it is undeniable that there are wealthy older people, wealth inequality within older age groups is vastly greater than between older and younger age groups.

And just as in every other age group, there are large numbers of older people living financially precarious lives. In fact, 2.1 million people aged over 65 are living in relative poverty in the UK today: that’s almost one in five people (18%) in this age group. “

Needs more research but I’d say the perception of older people being wealthy stems from because they have often wealth tied up in property. Asset rich, income poor.

Yeah, means test child benefit and we’ll need tonnes more immigration to maintain the country, bet you’d welcome that with open arms 😉

I am not sure he looked up the census make up before he set off for the game. Surprised you do. Now some on here I can imagine would and refuse to go if it was the wrong make up.

He is neither, just had never been to Derbyshire before so in the absence of prior knowledge, was surprised... not rocket science really except for people who just want to make it an issue.

I mean it is sort of means tested as if you earn over £60k it's reduced, over £80k it disappears, and over £100k no free nursery hours.

And of course on single income not family income cos that makes sense...

And its income not wealth, just like oldies. And as has been said, you can have wealth but sod all income, or income but sod all wealth... So fundamentally flawed in all ways.

In the mid 90s I worked in Kenya for 4 months. I didn’t look at the census, and I wasn’t surprised to find that every place I went was almost 100% black. There were areas where European ex pats had settled and built communities and were on occasion the majority but that didn’t surprise me either. Birds of a feather flock together and all that.

Because I was in Kenya and not bolsover I expected the country to be populated by African Kenyans.

Totally ignorant - he assumed the make up the UK populace was the same as the bubble of Greater London and was surprised when it wasn’t - a total lack of interest in and need to understand the United Kingdom. London’s is international. So the rest of the country must be.

I am happy with my comments, frankly don't care what you think. Bolsover and Chesterfield are very white - even i spot it now. Also way more mobility scooters than i see down here.

I'm glad you're happy to show yourself up as an idiot.

Latest opinion poll after the disastrous emergency budget from Reeves and Liebour last week when once again they attacked the weakest and most vulnerable of Britons.
Tory’s 26%
Reform 25%
Liebour 21%

Well we’re getting a vision of what Labour do when they have the local purse strings, the scenes in Birmingham, piles of rotting rubbish, plagues of rats and a huge health risk are disgusting and when Starmer was asked about it in the house today and a request to bring in the army to clean up he totally and utterly ignored the question and Birmingham and just went into one of his lying drones saying what Labour had done etc, lie, etc, lie, etc.
He’s not fit to be PM.

I think what I have fallen into is that old saying of arguing with idiots.

Have a great evening, don't look in the mirror you might find a reason to argue with yourself...

I am sure he didn't assume anything, it was a throw away line based on his inbuilt expectation of what he has grown up with and whilst you know London is special, you perhaps don't realise how special. I am still sometimes surprised when I get off a train and walk down the platform and realise how few have English as their first or preferred language (allowing for fact my train covers Harry Potter world so it's of tourists)

It was more different than he expected. Not unreasonable, after all we all have unconscious bias in our make up.

It’s not about ethnicity or diversity is it, or the make up of London’s population

But you know that don’t you.

Your pushing an argument no one is having because you made a stupid comment
