Palmer is playing as though his operation has given him a new lease of life. Maybe it has cleared up a long standing problem. His freedom of movement seems a lot better and I'd even say he's lost some weight.
Imo though, his fate rests on whether we get promotion. His pace and his positional play are not good enough for L1, where simply standing in a deep position to be an effective defender does not get results.
If MacFazdean gets over the knee injury, in my humble opinion he'll get another year, whether he plays in the first team or just has a run out with the lads.
He's far beyond anyone we have, and that includes Dunkley, who I have serious worries about.
Palmer, on current form is far too good to let go or drop this season. He wants to stay, which is a big plus for me so I'd give him another year as stand in for MacFazdean, because if Dunkley is fit he has shown he's capable of playing on the left of the centre pairing.
The one I really feel for is Tyrone Williams, he was playing above and beyond until his injury and even put off an operation on his shoulder for the cause.
