I wouldn't change anything beyond VDC on the bench (reluctantly) as back up. Potentially look to the weekend for McFadzean to come back for Palmer who will count himself unfortunate to drop out as he's been a new man and almost faultless.

No way can you leave Palmer out , he's not put a foot wrong since he came back in. One of the first on the teamsheet for me at the moment and I've never really been a big fan of his but fair play to him he's doing fantastic at the moment.

On the defensive side if things, I'd be bringing in VDC and put Mandeville back where he belongs.
I guess it would be a huge gamble to change the CB pairing as both have been excellent on this 5 game run - even with MacFadzen waiting in the wings.
Gordon is there as Sparks is unavailable.

Defence will be vs Carlisle

Drop Palmer? You been watching the last 5 games with your eyes painted on? He's been brilliant since he has come back in.

Where have I said he hasn't been? McFadzean wasn't signed to sit on the bench.

They're about down already and another defeat will just about nail the coffin lid down. Can't see them coming and playing 3 up top but there should be more than enough space to play in and around them.

I think the lid is already pretty secure...

On present form Palmer should be 1st name on the team sheet. McFaz.would be a great return but is he fully fit, NO.

As I'm seeing it, McFadzean now only comes in if one of the CB gets injured.
I'd stick him on the bench as an emergency or to bolster the defence late on.

I'd be looking at him and have a serious think on him for next season tho

I’ve got to say I’d like to see McFaz play a few games against 11 men before making my mind up about him. Looks comfortable on the ball and talks which we have lacked at times.

We've seen him pre injury against 11 and looks the business.
If he if looking at one more season, I'd offer him that on the basis of proving his fitness on that knee and ticking all boxes - obvs through pre season but also with the medical experts (whoever they are)

These will come to slow the game down, frustrate our play and try to nick a goal on the counter or set piece. Patience will be the key but we must drive at them and attack.

Palmer is playing as though his operation has given him a new lease of life. Maybe it has cleared up a long standing problem. His freedom of movement seems a lot better and I'd even say he's lost some weight.
Imo though, his fate rests on whether we get promotion. His pace and his positional play are not good enough for L1, where simply standing in a deep position to be an effective defender does not get results.

I guess he means against 11 for a full game?

He had a nervy start against Vale and his poor back pass lead to them scoring after 2 mins (although you could argue we should still deal with the throw in better) before they went down to 10 men after about 50 mins and then next game Bromley went down to 10 after about 20 mins, before he then limped off late on, so the majority of his game time here was against 10 men.

I hadn't realised Daley-Campbell was close to being back. Just read the DT report. Not surprised Donacien is out long-term- I guess his career is about over as he never looked fit, though he had ability. Hadn't realised Sheckleford had been added to the long-term absentee list.
These go to eleven.

If MacFazdean gets over the knee injury, in my humble opinion he'll get another year, whether he plays in the first team or just has a run out with the lads.
He's far beyond anyone we have, and that includes Dunkley, who I have serious worries about.
Palmer, on current form is far too good to let go or drop this season. He wants to stay, which is a big plus for me so I'd give him another year as stand in for MacFazdean, because if Dunkley is fit he has shown he's capable of playing on the left of the centre pairing.
The one I really feel for is Tyrone Williams, he was playing above and beyond until his injury and even put off an operation on his shoulder for the cause.

I'd keep Palmer over Grimes but if we want to progress on the pitch, neither should be part of the squad next season.

I'm waiting to be given the date by which we are entitled to ask what's up with Dunkley. Who's in charge of Entitlement?
