Im looking to get public transport into Liverpool city centre after the game to meet my other half.... although we havent booked a hotel yet which might affect our plans (Grand National dependant)... So I was looking at getting the Mersey Ferry across ... but their quick plain direct crossing appears to only run Mon - Fri - for the commuters... I don't want to pay for a scenic River cruise at £11 - 13....

Just jump on the train at Rock Ferry and take your pick of Lime Street, James Street, Liverpool Central or Moorfields. Only 20 minutes away.

It takes about 20 minutes to walk from Rock Ferry to Prenton Park.

There are 6 trains per hour between Rock Ferry and all the Liverpool Underground stations listed above.

The Captain Alexander is a cracking Wetherspoons directly opposite James Street station and boasts a great roof terrace!

One of my favourite away grounds fans ok stewards bang on always had a good time there

Anyone remember when we had a pen given against us he was literally 5 yards outside the box thankfully keeper saved it I’m sure to this day the player missed it on purpose it was literally hit with no pace just left of centre

Early KO. Probably just under 1000 at an early guess if we win tomorrow. Fewer if we don't.

It's not been moved for them (different KO time too) so don't think so.

No it's been moved to an early kick off because it's the Grand National later on Saturday 👍

Anyone got an tips on a decent Sports Bar type place to watch the afternoon results come in then the National?

Had one recommendation of Legends bar, but from a non-football fan so nothing to compare it to

We went for the weekend last year for the Open Golf at Hoylake and went to a few places to watch Football in the evenings/day after - the German Bierhaus in Concert Square, Irish pubs d Mcooleys/O'Neills (but there's loads of these). They are all walkable from Lime St - down Raneleigh St towards Concert Square area. We stayed by Lime St and went in Lime St Social for a breakfast one morning which was alright for a group of us

There's also Bierkeller, Box Park etc type places which I imagine will be lively

Well I would do but having set up a Tranmere account and picked seats in the away end (good job I know which it is as it doesn't say) it seems not to let you buy anything but adult priced tickets.

You need to register other folks to get the reduced prices
