Given Gordon’s track record in football predictions it’ll mean probably another 15 years of this sh..e, now there’s a wrist slitting thought.

So what you're saying is, he thought the whole of the UK was like London? And you say he's not an idiot? Ok 😂

No, he didn't think it would be like London but he was surprised just how few non whites... is it really that hard to get. Take a couple of examples - my close of 10 houses, 3 are non white, 1 eastern European. My mums close of 7 houses, all white English. My team of 6, 4 non white, my last team in the Midlands, all white.

As he has lived and worked in the south / London, he expected it to be more coloured.

Quite simple really. But as this board shows, quite a can't do common sense reasoning...

You've already shown him up now. He doesn't deserve your support.

He doesn't need my support, now off changing the world in Singapore working for a multinational. Obviously wider horizons than us.

See my mum has had an election leaflet from the Homeland Party who seem to be a bunch of "keep Britain for the British". Asdume they are happy to see foreign doctors, etc?

Ps see you ignored the facts as that didn't fit your blinkered narrative

What facts?

I can’t wait for his next thrilling observation. ‘The Day I Went To Lagos And Didn’t See A White Man’. Channel 5 might be interesting in the rights to that one.

Labour voter all my life, but wont be voting for any candidate at all standing for them this May. If I'd have wanted a government with right wing rabid policies I would have voted for Farage and Co. last summer.

I can see the Labour party being all but wiped out in next 4 years if they continue with these ridiculous policies.

Same here. But the thing is everyone hated the tories and wanted them out and labour in so whats going to happen going forward we just going to flick between two parties who are both as bad as each other or vote in a racist ignorant toff as pm who is basicully a tory whos spat his dummy out leading w party with no solid policies and followed by ignorant people

Here you go...

In Chesterfield, 94.9% of residents identified as White, while 2.2% identified as Asian, Asian British or Asian Welsh, 0.9% as Black, Black British, Black Welsh, Caribbean or African, 1.5% with Mixed or Multiple ethnic groups, and 0.5% with other ethnic groups.

South East:
In the South East, the percentage of people from the "Asian, Asian British or Asian Welsh" ethnic group increased from 5.2% to 7.0% between 2011 and 2021.
The percentage of people who identified their ethnic group within the "Black, Black British, Black Welsh, Caribbean or African" category increased from 2.1% in 2011 to 2.6% in 2021.

So if you grew up in the south east and came to Chesterfield he might think it was very white.

The same as white Chesterfield people who came to my neck of the woods they might think it was less white.

Hope that helps?

As usual a helpful input. You don't know the background to people who post and whether they have a condition that causes it. You should think of the background before posting...

You're completely missing the point. Why, as a presumably intelligent person, was he remotely surprised enough to make such an idiotic comment?

Because Chesterfield and bolsover is unusually white. See stats. Maybe if you strayed further afield you would spot it. See stats.

It's hard to be prepared for just how insular some areas are. The locality around Boston is another. See brevity results for others.

Given over 80% of the UK population is white, chesterfield isn’t “unusually white” is it.

London, compared to the rest of the UK is “unusually diverse”
A new hope.

No need for the (incorrect) digs. As someone who claims not to make person insults etc, you do make yourself look a tw@t at times!

Outside of London and the larger towns and cities, Chesterfield/Bolsover/NE Derbyshire are much the same as most of the country. Plenty are more 'white' according to the census data, some a little less.
