Well watching the tide ebb and flow behind the ground was more entertaining for the most part.

But we dragged three points out the North west coast mud to go seven behind fourth with a game in hand.

And extended our run of form - at exactly the right time - to thirteen from fifteen.

Are we good enough to go up, though?

Realistically?

Dunno. However I said back in Aug' having a sniff of the play offs with a couple to go would be a worthwhile season.

Meanwhile some of us remember nineteen ninety*...

*Snook into the play offs final day, hammered a Stockport who'd finished nearly twenty points above us in the semi, then only lost to Dion Dublin converting a corner that never was at Wembley...

Remember it as though it was yesterday Chris.
Beat Grimsby on the final day of the season then hammered Stockport 6-0 on aggregate in the play off.
Four goals for Calvin Plummer and a goal each from John Ryan and John Chiedozie and then George Courtney forgot to put his contact lenses in at Wembley.
It took me ages to get over that day. It felt like I'd suffered a bereavement.
Even now every time I see Dublin on TV I can't help but mutter to myself " It was never a corner Dion! "

At this stage of the season points are more important than performance and we got the 3 points today, hoping we keep the dream alive

I’d like to take back what I said on another thread regarding metcalfe (tried to find it but couldn’t) I’d be up for him being here next season if possible, he’s getting better by the week

We have a real chance now of finishing in the top 10 places. Playoffs for me are a bonus, let’s make sure we finish above the likes of Bromley, Fleetwood and Salford.

We have an outside chance, not no chance.

There was a time I thought you spoke sense. You are though just a Poundland Walton. Never mind. You won't lose any sleep over it and neither will I.

Ditto. Your post was in response to mine where I said I’d like to see him here next season. I remember in his early games he looked like a kid playing a man’s game but there was a player in there. He needs minutes at this level and I can see him getting better and better the more he adapts to first team football.

Nowt to do with being a lemming. You clearly know nowt. Why do you keep bringing up the 3 year deal? You were happy with it when he signed? And that opinion is justified considering the goals he’s scored. It’ll go down as Jacob’s goal today by the way. Chin up.

One shot, one goal I make it. Once again a one-on-one save by Boot precedes a decent win. After a first half that was absolutely dire a win wipes the slate clean I suppose, but with Banks, Naylor and Metcalfe all playing, surely we could have managed to produce at least one chance in 45 minutes football.
The commentator's assistant was easily the best there's been all season.

Griggs goals got us out the conference, I suspect the only reason he came was due to the 3 year contract, if he’s crap next season I really couldn’t care less, he’s done his job for us.

If, by some miracle, you turn out to be correct, don't think he really needs to be crucified for joining a club in the league above, does he? I feel like he gets grief he doesn't deserve, but I wouldn't be particularly gutted were he to leave, either. So if he jumps a division (somehow), fair play to the lad.

Depends if it Mansfield he joins
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

His heart must be bleeding that a Jacobs got the winner. Cook won't fancy the playoffs according to him

Having watched both Crewe and Bradford who were both very poor today no shot on goal via Bradford and the others faltering who knows and Hrigg was outstanding today when he came on won the 2nd balls his lay offs were brilliant and always looking to pass to a player and we have missed him so much

Agree regarding the co-commenter. He was spot on with all the fouls and showed little or no bias towards Barrow at all. A very refreshing change.

As I said during the game - the commentators were such a contrast to Nottingham tossers. They made a first half that was almost unwatchable, almost listenable
