Absolutely ridiculous. For the benefit of all living together harmoniously we should treat everyone the same and it was the other way round in respect of ethnicity of victim and offenders, would they say the same...

It certainly wouldn’t have been covered up by all levels of the establishment were that the case

See three bolsover councillors have become independents - either down to the policies and leadership of Starmer or the performance of the local MP depending who you believe.

Going well, then.

Lots of local elections happening round here and I’d hazard a guess that they know if they stand under the Labour banner they’ll not get in. It was sort of similar years ago round here, many who stood as independents were maybe Conservatives but knew they wouldn’t have a cat in hells chance of getting elected around here if that appeared in the ballot paper.
I’ve said before on here that regardless of who I’ve voted for in the last cpl of elections I’ve always voted for my local Labour councillor because he’s a decent bloke, but I’m afraid this time that’s looking more and more unlikely.

Well, that's a proper rant. But I do think there are people who don't want "foreigners" and don't care about legitimate asylum seekers. I think we shouldn't be afraid of calling them out and being clear we will take people who meet clear criteria, only.

I think I can read a room, I visit Derbyshire (very white, according to one of my friends who was half Irish, half Indian) but work where over 80% of my team are non white.

Is your friend a bit dim? If I go to India, should I comment that it's 'very brown'? It would be an idiotic thing to say.

I’d imagine any sitting Labour councillor hoping to get re elected would want any current member of the Parliamentary Labour Party as far away from them as is humanly possible.

Also got to remember that the County Council is Conservative run due to the rest of the county (High Peak, Derby surround, Belper) being very right wing.

He grew up in Shepherds Bush, worked in London, so no walking round somewhere so white was unusual to him.

Do you ever stray into a big city? He certainly wasn't an idiot, I am less sure about you..

Labour voter all my life, but wont be voting for any candidate at all standing for them this May. If I'd have wanted a government with right wing rabid policies I would have voted for Farage and Co. last summer.

I can see the Labour party being all but wiped out in next 4 years if they continue with these ridiculous policies.

A new low - the disability changes - nothing available for the visually impaired to explain it. That’ll be celebrated by Reform (as its anti woke)

Again, missing the point deliberately. He didn't say he was surprised the majority were white, he was surprised how few non whites there were. Which clearly colours (excuse the pun) the views of the locals.

But hey, you knew that and were just trying to be clever. Doesn't suit you...

So what you're saying is, he thought the whole of the UK was like London? And you say he's not an idiot? Ok 😂
