I think Yorkshire and Hampshire are probably well clear of any debt?

Yorkshire have significant financial issues; debts of around £20m and Hampshire around triple that. Two worse examples you couldn't have found!

Not sure on Hampshire but Yorkshire agreed a deal to sell all 100% of the Northern Superchargers Hundred franchise, compared to others selling just 49%, which apparently would get them £100m. Now how that works in terms of Yorkshires overall finances i'm not sure as some of it is part of the fund being split among all the counties and the grassroots game.

Leics were worried about their finances last year.

As far as I'm aware, non of the Hundred money has arrived yet and even then, you can't spend it on players.&nbsp;<div>&nbsp; It's for ground infrastructure, to clear debt, or keep in the bank.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;Derbyshire should in theory be in a good position, as there are no debts to clear, unlike 16 other counties, bar us and Surrey, I believe..

They are still talking about having to make YCCC a private company to attract investment to keep them going on top of fully selling out the Hundred franchise when majority have maintained a controlling interest.

Derbyshire should spend money on upgrading the floodlights then

one of the first to have lights over 20 years ago but they have not changed in all that time

Be interesting to see if the long standing temporary seating at one end and the little covered seating area just to the side of it get upgraded. You would think there was scope for one decent sized stand round that side of the ground to provide some decent seating and viewing.

That said the last few times i've been to a game at Derby its been a T20 with my dad and we've taken our own folding seats and plonked them on the grass just behind the white fence between those two stands so the bar is just behind us and we've been fine and its a very pleasant spot to watch cricket from when its a nice evening.

There is currently a new 900 seat stand being constructed next to the media centre, as I went on a ground tour last week. The seats that were there, are going over to the side where the old scoreboard is.

I believe some of the Hundred money will hopefully be going on new floodlights, at a cost of around 3 million.

I was told they are the original floodlights and they are now the worst on the circuit.

I think they only cost 250k or something like that and they would be 3 million now!

I had a quick dig around and can find something about them being moved around back when they turned the square but i think they just shifted the originals and didnt change them in anyway.

Vaguely remember us being one of the first to have them, there was some sort of floodlit cup between the four teams that had them back then.

I'm sure the first time we had a floodlit game, and I use that term loosely, they were on the back of trucks and were little better than decent torches.

Think there was a lot of that about in the early days of white ball cricket.

We went to the a One Dayer at Trent Bridge between England and South Africa which was meant to be the big unveiling of their floodlights. Sth Africa were crap, bowled out for not many and England had won before they needed turning on!

The club expect to receive £20-£25m from 'project Gemini' which is the Hundred franchise sales. Only debt is £280k mortgage on Gateway centre. Money has to be spent within certain guidelines but there are two sets of tentative plans to invest in significant ground improvements. Financially the club is well placed compared to the vast majority of counties but playing budget remains either lowest or second lowest which matches income.

(From the AGM last night).

Long may that level of performance continue this season
