Derbyshire didn't play at home in 2020, as Derby was given up to touring teams in Covid.

Also, beat Middlesex at Chesterfield in 2022.

Of course, each county only plays 7 homes a year and most games are draws.

one home championship win in 5 years
imagine the fans reaction to that in football terms would there be a ground left to play in ?

Blair Tickner back for next season, on paper seems a decent signing as was going ok before he had to return for family reasons.

Madness. Not sure I renewed our memberships for any other reason than the hope it shows my support to the idea of professional cricket in the county!

It is the only reason I buy a membership.

I only go to the Chesterfield games and a few days at Derby to see the 4 day games and the odd 50 over reserve team competition.

And as for freezing your nuts off as it dips below freezing in the 20 over stuff in June - no gracias.

I realise I've got the first day of the season off, so if it's dry and approaching double digit temperatures I might jump in the car and go to Derby for that.

I'm hoping for mid table in the Championship and qualification in one of the short formats.

The Championship hopes could rest on when Harry Moore is available, after his School finishes.

We really need big contributions from Tickner and Jewell, as the overseas have been poor in recent years.

In theory, we have a more than reasonable side for 'proper' cricket.

Came
Jewell
Reece/Bin Naeem
Madsen
Guest
Lloyd/Donald/Wagstaff
Dal
Andersson/Thompson
Chappell
Tickner
Brown/Moore/Morley/Aitchison

In theory, all good cricketers. My concern is that, since Masood and du Plooy, there are too many "30 and out" batters.

Aithison was our best 4 day bowler, before injuries. Can he come back the same? Not sure.....

A full season from Tickner will be a big bonus as he was shaping up quite well last year until his season was cut short by his wifes serious illness

This spinner from Afghanistan that Derbyshire have signed looks like an interesting one. Young but seems to have had a good start to his international career.

Came has talent but is very vulnerable to a waft outside often stump.

Aitchison has had to re-model his action apparently. Looked extremely good at times before so whether he can return to that, the jury is out.

I see Leics have signed Handscomb and Masood, 2 Test match standard overseas.

I keep hearing from Derbyshire that we are the only debt free club in professional sport, which is fine if you don't finish bottom of the CC!

I've heard that Tickner has picked up a shoulder injury too....

I think Yorkshire and Hampshire are probably well clear of any debt?
